Every once in a while...

Things that you create come together in such a way that it is hard to part with them. I often create items for others that I truly like. Not always love but like. Then there are those creations that are really hard to part with as they have more bits of you in them then anything you have created.

When I create items I always try to put something from the hoard vault of something of great value to me personally. A gift from a friend such as a sweetly made flower and it happens to be the only white one* wink*, or a button or hankie from my Grandmother's sewing jar. When I include personal items like these, people often seem surprised. I was asked about it again today. These things would not be appreciated by the ones left behind if I happen to leave this world for the heavens. So I am continuing the legacy now by passing them on to those I know which have the same love for them as I do. I am giving them new life as some of them would just end up as dust. a bit of glue maintains them for hopefully a few more years to be enjoyed.

I just finished  my February Super secret squirrel sisterhood cigar box swap and I had none other then Tonya Gibbs of psychomoms on You Tube. It was very hard for me personally to create for Tonya as I think she is such a wonderful artist and have admired her style and work. I did get it done( last minute ninny) and she received it today. part one of her video is up and she loved it.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVoLAJCCC9k&feature=uploademail

YAY!!!!

I didn't take but 2 pictures of the items inside. I forgot so I will actually get professional pictures of my work. WOW that will be a first. I can't wait. I changed the pics to black and white so she couldn't see the colors and know who her partner was. If she had seen more of the box she would have had no doubts that I was making her box.

So now onto some fun stuff! I have mini albums to create, a dolly and possibly a pattern or two. Plus a few thank you cards.
I am trying to get lots of things done so hopefully more blog updates soon!
 make a happy memory

FREE Copic storage

Yes, It is free to me! My Best friend's ex gave it to me years ago. I used it to store my glues in for about 12 yrs or so and worked great. It still holds a few bottles until my small collection of copics grows. Yes, It is small but it will get there in time. LOL

It will hold 20 markers in each square so that is a grand total of 480 markers. Since Copic keeps adding to new colors this works perfectly!

Okay have to go do some housework  :( Blah but it isn't getting done by done by the naughty fairies. LOL
Have a great weekend. I just might be back with the showing of the studio. Crossing my fingers.

first project for 2012

I couldn't take it any longer, I had to create something... LOL
So I came across this image i had colored at Christmas time and decided it would be perfect the winter swap I am in. I had the blue background page already inked and colored as well. So I threw it all together and this is the end result. I really like it even if it is colored pencils. I didn't have all the Copic colors I needed to do this in those.
I love these stamps, some of my favorites. In fact I think they are the ones I am most drawn too. LOL

I used a different dimensional on this card and not crazy about them. they are foam squares by scotch. blah. they pop up unevenly.
Then I had to do the inside like Arlene of butterflykisses does. I love how she does her cards. Here it is.  It does make it looks special inside.
So at least I did something this month. LOL Now back to work/play with me. See ya soon with a few videos. I was tagged in the "your favorite things for 2011" ya all know this list will be long. LOL

Another storage idea

 Hello Everyone,
I have been plugging along at the studio. Spent most of the day yesterday and some of today continuing on with the organizing. It  finally looks like I have done something. LOL One side is clean. LOL

I just finished with the die cutting area and this is what I did to the spellbinders, Paper trey Ink and My favorite things dies. I love them all but wanted one place to put them all. I had to store the Memory box dies inthe old CD wallet for now. I need to purchase another large one but kinda snowed in at the moment. See video for details. LOL
I have vowed to have this done by Saturday and I think I might actually get done tomorrow. We shall see.
Have a great night and see you with the reveal soon!

Just a wee peek

Into my trim organization. Amy from Worker4ever123 requested a video on how I did my trims. So I did that this morning for her. It is only that. You will see that I am clearly a hoarder!! LOL I bet most of you knew that. I am still doing trims believe it or not. They aren't done yet and this is DAY THREE! OMG I didn't even know how many I had :(. LOL So guess what I will have in lots of projects this year? YEP! Trims you guessed it. LOL
Have a wonderful week everyone. I will try to up date the blog again on Tuesday. More peeks.

THE word for 2012 is ...

Organization!

or·gan·i·za·tion/ˌôrgəniˈzāSHən/

Noun:
  1. The action of organizing something.
  2. The structure or arrangement of related or connected items.
So that is what I have been doing! The studio is where I started as I am a year behind on this. If you remember last year I started this and had to stop to take care of Mom during her surgery. She is better now so the New Year brings with her new HOPE*. Hope to be able to get organized and Simplify my life in the process.
I took this picture last year as I had started organizing my trims/ ribbons. For two days even through 5 hrs of now power with a flashlight I organized my trims. Yes, Tracy of Tracy's Treasures said I was very dedicated. Yes, I am. I am going to get organized once and for all! I need this like I need more scrappy stuff. LOL It will become my addiction for the time being.  I need to know what I have so I can use what I have to make room for NEW. LOL Yep, vowed to use it and not hoard it any longer. I am not saving it for the kids any more.

I am proud to say that so far I have emptied 12 big tubbies, 4 little ones( holds like a big pair of boots) and have 2 tubs to sell and 2 lawn bags to give away. WHEW! In one weeks time that isn't bad.
Today I unwrapped 75 spools of ribbon onto 12 sheets of chipboard. each cut into 4 pieces. so it is a lot of takes up a lot less of a foot print of space. Loads of space saving. I organize them by type of ribbon. Not color  or size. As I add restock I will do it by color but for now simply by type. grosgrain, satin, glitter, organdy, rick rack, seam binding, vintage, velvet , Halloween, Christmas, ruffle and lace. I will do a video when the whole room is done. I am gonna be done this Month. God willing and the creek don't rise. LOL Mom always says that.
So back to work for me. Lots of changes going on and you might see a few here on my blog.
 Have a lovely weekend.

Gift Wrapping Tutorial

Many people have asked where I learned to wrap from. Well that would be from Mom. She and my Grandmother~ her mother were both professional wrappers for a big department store. People would stand in line for hours to have one of the two wrap their gifts.
So I thought it would be fun and useful if I video taped Mom wrapping a present. *winks* I got her to wrap three of my gifts in the process. LOL Naughty Pea huh?
So here ya go, if you can't wrap or want to wrap better. This is the video to help you. There is a part two to this which isn't edited yet. Hope to have it up tonight but fighting the kids for the web this evening.
See you soon.

Hot Cocoa recipe

Tracy over at Tracy's treasures( Link HERE)
is making snowman soup for her guests. I have made these for many years but I also make the cocoa. So with everyone trying to save pennies I thought I would share the recipe. This is Mom's recipe and I don't know where she got it from but she made her own as she is allergic to Corn syrup and it is in everything.

Red's Hot Chocolate

1 cup powdered sugar sifted
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 3/4 cups powered milk
1/2 cup non dairy coffee creamer
1 cup marshmallows

Sift all( except the marshmallows) ingredients together or place in food processor and blend well.
* flavoring can be added- mint 1/8 mint extract can be added to pre-sifted mixture
or orange, raspberry add 1/2 teaspoon of extract.

Now head over to Tracy's blog for the poem/packaging of the snowman soup.
Happy Holidays!

I pulled a Tracy.... LOL let us see if she notices...?

Tracy and I had discussed that I needed to organize my pantry. It was clearly in need of a reorganizing and I tried to get her to come and do it for ME! Clearly her family is much more important then my pantry so I did it myself. LOL I did NOT take before pics cause I don't want to cause permanent mental damage to anyone that reads my blog but this is the finished product.
Much better, not great but for now it will do. I have to think of a few things to add to make it much more functional. To be honest I have always struggled with organizing. Always wanted it that way but really struggle getting it there.

Yes! I know still waiting on studio pics/video. One of these days. Maybe next year. Right now I feel very much like someone trapped in a revolving door with no exit. LOL Just going in circles. LOL

I did how ever manage to get a few projects done. I have many left to do. Mini albums, quilts, recipe books, decorate the tree. etc. BUSY week with Doctors tomorrow and Mom's birthday wed. We will be taking her to Seattle. shhhhhhh don't tell her. Blogger is being a pain in the assets, but we will see how many pics I can load.

A very chippy ornament I made. I did a video tutorial on this one so you can find that on my channel whimsical endeavors.

I made this for a friend as a Thank YOu. I sure hope she likes it way over due.

the other side of this ornament says" when SNOW* wasn't cold? I do many years ago. LOL
Okay that is enough sharing tonight. I honestly don't think but maybe two people read my blog anymore but I will tell you this... A HUGE give away is coming so soon it is scary. LOL Stay tuned.

Last minute card

I made this card last minute for Halloween but I really like the way it turned out.  The funny thing is I HATE spiders. Or Shelobs as I call them. LOL

here is another shot of it.

Then the money shot LOL as Tracy calls it. LOL

On to my day. CLEANING. boo hiss! I hate it but it must be done. I have a TON of projects on the table to get done this weekend and I want to hit the stores tomorrow for some new music, a few organizing items and then home to create like a mad woman. LOL I did manage to get quite a bit done today. I haven't done the deep cleaning in awhile as I haven't been feeling well for some time now. I am trying to some things non drug related and I think they actually might be working. YAY!
I am clearing things out and preparing for the dreaded carpet steam cleaning I do before the holidays. One of my least favorite things but with dogs I hate all the hair. So steam cleaning helps to freshen the air around here as well as the carpets. Even though I vacuum it can still linger of puppy around here. Some sprays help but not long lasting. So steam cleaning is the only cure. LOL
Okay. so what did productive thing did you do today?
make it a good weekend

My first Halloween MINI

I had to make one, it was screaming to get out. Had to do 7 pages instead of 6 just to be odd/ different. LOL
Wanted to put some things in there for the family. Not just adults or strictly kids but a blend of both. I am happy with the end result. I do really like a few elements. My favorites are the eyes through the mail box. LOL this cracks me up.

Love the foil for the leaves and the sticky cork acorn. Love the texture of it.
Especially the back. Oh that is my favorite part of all. I really like when I can take something that is specifically made for one thing and use it in my crafts. LOL Like discovering a relic. LMBO.

I put it in my etsy store and to my surprise it sold. YAY! My first scrapbooking sale. That was exciting.
here is the Video in case you wanted to see all the details.

Thanks for watching.
I have been going through things in the studio. It is becoming a nightmare. It is a bigger mess then when I started. It is the task for this week. Ya see my baby girl bought her first car.

TRACY~ she bought a red jeep! LOL I conned her into doing a goodwill run for me and well I have to get all this stuff ready to go. SOOOO that will be what I will be doing this week. I have to pay for gas for the next run. Ah I see you say. yes... LOL it happens.
Okay everyone have a great week. be back soon

A birthday card

Hello Everyone,
Made this card for a friends birthday and even though I am late I think she will like it.
I used my Distress inks to color the image and a paintbrush. I like the effect it gives. It is fun but takes a ton of time :( She is worth it I think.
For the little snail( my favorite part I cut out the image in patterned paper and crackle accented it. I love how it turned out. A little vintage flower and pearl stamens colored with glimmer mist. Simple and sweet.
Will have a video share for you soon. Working on some patterns this weekend. Back to work I go.

I have been Published.

IN PRIM'S Magazine! I am thrilled. It came out just a few days ago. One of my FAVORITE dolls is featured in this magazine with my fellow TDIPT girls.
Do you remember Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater? Well here he is and all glory* WINK*
This is truly a honor. I did this as a promise to My God Mother Sylvia. She passed away from colon cancer this past march. The day I got the magazine I felt her smile at me. Along with our Sue. I can't describe the feeling but it was a bittersweet moment I will never forget.
Thank you for sharing my moment!

I received my Design team package!!! YAY!

Hello Everyone,
I am so very happy as I received my design team package from Enchantment scrapbooking and more the other day. It is wonderful. Wait until you see all the goodies she sent to me. Papers, trims yards and yards, stamps, flowers just a over flow of goodness. I took a video as I knew otherwise it would never all show up in pictures. Not to mention this wonderful Vintage car kit. It is so neat. I have put paper on it but that is as far as I have gotten so far. I have many orders to take care of first. The great thing is Theresa is ever so patient and no pressure. I love that about this. FUN< FUN is the focus.

Hopefully the video is showing up above.
Have a great week. Be back with new projects soon.

Custom Vintage Car Chipboard Mini kit

 Hello Everyone,
Be still my heart! OMG A friend of mine has designed her own kit through Accucut. This Jalopy is so AWESOME! Oh, isn't it cool? I can see this is going to be a great gift for the guys in my life. This is so cool. I can see pictures added to the windows. All grunge and distressed.
You can find the link to it HERE!
Theresa has her own store called Enchantments Scrapbooking and More.  It is a cute little shop and online store but she has all the good stuff. I can't wait to get my hands on this kit. Oh how exciting.

Theresa did this kit up and put a VIDEO on youtube. She actually did 2 versions of this mini. One is a wedding album. Just stunning! I love it. It is simply elegant. The other she had fun with and that is the Steampunk debutant. Oh I never would have thought of that paperline. Just goes to show how many choices you have with this mini album. Go check out her channel. You will love it.

Okay everyone, this chick is toast. Fighting a heck of a headache all day and I give. Going to bed. Have a wonderful week.

Single Fighter

I love dragonflies. To me they represent the fighter pilots of the bug world. I happily watched our single patrolman today for about a hour. He takes the same path each time but extends his search just a little farther into one of the other zones with each flight. Nature at it's best.

A uninvited patrolman from another district flew in today. This foreigner was not well received by our friendly but fearless fighter. It was like watching a dog fight from a old black and white WW2 movie. Of course our  fighter was the true winner and the invader quickly went back to his own airspace.

I never did see if our fighter caught what he was after, but it was surely peaceful entertainment.
I was not able to snap a picture of him. For security reasons of course. LOL I just don't have that high of a security level. DH tells me he does and he will see what he can do. Being the crew chief I would gather he could get the clearance. LOL
This picture is a close enough representation of our friendly fighter.

This post is dedicated to the events and people lost in the 9-11 attacks. May we never forget the high cost of freedom.
 Have a wonderful week
 Blessings,Pea

Butterfly Award

Tracy of Tracy's treasures gave me this beautiful award. Now to accept this award I need to answer some questions about myself. A lot like her I think you all pretty much everything about me but I do like to change my mind from time to time;) so here is goes

So here it goes:

robins egg blue or pale aqua

Seriously this is the hardest part of it all.
I want to cop out and give it to everyone who visits my blog today, but I know, no one will post it unless I personally mention their names.

Dress form and Tag

Hi everyone,
I have only been home 2 days and have already accomplished something. WOW. I feel under the gun though. Like I am months behind and ya know I am? The good news is I work well under pressure. I get going and don't stop. That is the way it will be this week. Tons, I mean TONS to do. So keep watching for more projects soon:)

I had a custom order for another dress form and made a little tag to go along with it. I also made a video of it.
here is the LINK

The tag is simple but love how it turned out. Did it pretty simple on the back as well.

The dress form turned out very nice I think. Simple and elegant. I think it will match her craft space perfectly.

So this was my day. Nothing too exciting but glad that the video is done, the projects as well and now on to the next items. I can't wait to get started on the big project. You will just have to wait and see on that one. Taking Mom grocery shopping tomorrow. That will be fun.
Have a great week.

Off to a wedding, a very important wedding

No, not mine. LOL My youngest son Tyler is getting married on Saturday. So off we go in the morning. A bit of a drive but all will be well. We have a live in dog sitter. LOL I will post pics on Monday.
This is my boy. He has turned into a wonderful young man.

I think he and Cassi will be very happy together. They have a lot in common and a bit of grit;) It is going to be a beautiful wedding on the most perfect day.
Have a wonderful weekend.

A sister Tag

Here is another tag that I made for another friend. It is the sister to the tag below. This tag is also made from recycled punch package but it is a tag with in a tag. I love making these. It is so much fun. They go pretty quickly really. On this one I had to wait a while for the gloss accents to dry though.
This is how it looked when it arrived at my friends house.

this is how it looks removed from the outer tag. I love this one.
Well I made each a few more things but been bad lately about taking pictures. I keep forgetting in my rush to get them to their new homes.
One more post for tonight and off to bed.
Hugs,Pea

A tag for a friend

This tag was made with the cardboard from a punch. I love how it turned out. I used my spellbinders to do the cut outs, added a recollections flower sprayed with Lindy's stamp gang. Some black lace and the cut out she send me in my June swap. She is so sweet and loved the tag. I had a lot of fun making this. I love using those backings from the punches.
some big plans coming up soon. I might just surprise ya. See you Monday.
Hugs,Pea

second swap for July projects

I swapped with Amy of My Teddyboo on youtube. She is so sweet. I made this box for her. It is huge.
I used one of those big boxes from Michael's with ugly paper. LOL I sanded it, painted it with gesso, 4 shades of pink and crackled brown. Then added Tim Holtz tissue tape around the edges. His crackle over that, here and there. Added bo bunny papers, digital images, stickles, and tons of vintage lace. You will have to watch the video to hear that story.
it is ~HERE~

here is the bottom inside.

this is the inside lid. I love how it all came together.
If you would like to see the sign and all the goodies that Amy Received then watch ~THIS~
So that is my latest 2 projects. I have a few Halloween items coming after the wedding. Can't wait to get started. Have a great night.
hugs,pea

projects to share

97 post yet to go before I catch up! LOL for a online journal I never write. Terrible.
I was in 2 swaps for the month of July. Did I say that already? I don't remember so I am gonna share my projects anyway.
This is a tag I made for Edith, my partner. The images are from Hero arts and Technique tuesday.
Here is the back side. With a pocket and tag inside.

I love the colors. I also used a vintage trim black lace) about 75 yrs old. It came out of a a friends grandmother- in laws trunk. It was a wonderful gift.

I also used a Tim Holtz bottle with pearls, seed beads and vintage velvet flowers. I made her a cigar box to match. I forgot to take pictures of it, but you can find the video of it and the other project I made to go with this set~HERE~

This swap was a lot of fun. The second swap was lots of fun as well. I will put pics and video links of that in the next post.
I had to bow out of this months swaps as I am heading to a wedding in the morning. My youngest son is getting married Saturday. Have a safe and happy weekend.
