That just might work...

I don't know about you guys but when it comes to shipping items and the ever rising cost,- (despite the fact that Dh works for the Postal Service) I try and get my hands on as many of those little bags of air as I can. So I started thinking of ways I could do the same thing. The cost is the factor. Little bags would be too costly. Then it hit me, why not use balloons!!! They are cheap, I have free hot air- LOL and that would work. Only fill the balloon as much as needed. Could fit in there with the dollies and still be protected and light weight. Much lighter then paper anyway.

So what do you all think? I am excited and am gonna give it a try. I thought we could all use a cheaper way to package our item, so that is why I am sharing.

Have the most wonderful day. Gotta go clean up the house again. I wasn't even home and it is a mess again:(

not a bad idea. It just might work. Let me know how it goes. I'm often mailing dolls too and even send them in bubble wrap envelopes. I wrap then in bubble wrap and then in the padded envelope. I don't like to, but I ask the receiver if they don't mind? Who woulda thought- balloons. Genius! :O)

AwtemNymf,
Ya know packing it seemed to go just like the bags with air. So ya know I think we have a winner.
Thanks sweetie.

Sounds like a good idea. I hate tying those suckers though, very frustrating.

LOL Jenny,
Oh I can tie a balloon so fast it can shock ya. I used to work at the State Fair as a teenager every summer. Slinging hash, tying balloons and a lot of other really unuseful items.. LOL
You can always use curling ribbon to tie them. Remember to stretch the balloon. The blow it up a bit and let it go and then blow it up and leave a bit on the end for tying. That is the trick!

That is a genius idea! And just imagine the added pleasure of the reciever-doing the happy dance because the package they were anxiously awaiting has arrived and then opening it to find a party in the package too!! lol

Christine,
I never thought of it like that but yes, that is a neat way of looking at it.
Thanks sweetie.
Have a wonderful weekend

I thought of it, as Christine did! I thought you could color coordinate as well.

That is a grand idea and I may just have to try it. Have to get balloons thou, as they DO NOT last around here, even if I hid them.

They either have to blow them up and play hot potatoe or make water balloons outside...who can blame them for either idea thou.

I agree it could be a lot of fun. It worked fine but wonder what the customers will think. LOL they might think I am nuts.
