~Sneak peek~

Pfatt marketplace updates tonight at midnight. I have some new goodies created just for the site. Click HERE

Boy have I been busy. With Mom and the show not a moments rest for the old Pea. It isn't looking any better with this weeks schedule either. I am so durn tired I could cry. I will be hitting the hay early this evening as Mom has a doctors appointment tomorrow( just check up) and I have to drive her as she still doesn't know her way around very well.

The show was pretty good. We will have a encore performance this weekend. There are still some candles, tarts and even a few snowmen ready for new homes. If you wanted a second look we would be more then happy to have you stop by. Of course I will have a few new items. Will be sewing in my sleep but it won't be the first time. LOL

I guess that is all for now. I have to go and pay bills. Boo Hiss I hate watching all the money disappear. No fun.:(

I will try and pop back in a couple of days. You all have a wonderful week.

CELEBRATION GIVE AWAY!!!!

Alright ladies and guys. You have been patient enough and I am sure that by now you all thought I had forgotten about my special Celebration Give Away. I had not forgotten and it has been heavy on my mind. Just not enough of me to go around these days.

Yes, Mom has a house but still not the way she wants or needs it to be. Still some work and tweaking to be done. I will be going over on Sunday after church to get her done as much as I can physically do myself. Then the fine tuning and organizing is all up to her.

The second celebration is for Alex. You remember my post early July about Alex needing a heart transplant and the doctors had to check him over to see if it could even be done? Well I am happy to announce that Alex does qualify for a new HEART. The question now is whether Alex will decide to do it. There are so many details and this will be forever. It may or may not take as well as a boat load of other risks involved. So it is up to him and the ones above to decide his fate at this point on. We are celebrating either way and it is a chance for Alex no matter what he chooses.
so with all this wonderful news a Give Away was in order. I have two items for the two celebrations in my life.

These are what I call my Vintage Petites. They are old fashioned Noise makers. Each one will come with a matching set of (3) tags. They are made from antiqued papers and lots of other paper trims and goodies. They make lots of noise. So much fun. remind me of some of the goodies I got as a kid. Inspired by those memories. Shipped to the lucky winners. These are very neat and the details do not show up in the pics. They will signed to you from me. A few other goodies will be tucked inside but that is the secret part and can't tell ya. *Giggle*

The rules are simple... follow my blog and post a comment to this post. You get one for entering. If you are already a follower.. You get a extra entry. If you post this to your blog then you will get three entries. If you receive my updates already you get one for that as well. To be entered in to my update list you need only ask and give me your email address. phillanes@yahoo.com
Pretty simple and good luck to you all.

Date this contest runs. From Sept 25- Oct. 2 2009. On the night of the 1st I will announce the winners. I want the lucky winners to be able to enjoy this before Halloween.
Back to work for me.. Blessings,Pea

New Goodies

Some Old Fashioned Noise Makers. I call them Vintage Petites. Just something for a little corner. Each comes with 3 tags and I will be listing them on etsy tomorrow.

~5 Little GIVE AWAY Prizes~

Hello Everyone,
Awhile back I looked on Bone Heads Studios blog and low and behold she was giving away a sweet little prize. MY OH MY be still my heart. A wee Bone head of my very own? Well you know I just had to jump on that.
.There is a catch however!!! You had to inturn give away 5 little prizes of your very own. So after much debate as to what to give away I have finally had enough time to create 5 more little magnets like I made for Jenny Of Wonders of Whimsy. Each one is created by me.
#2 and # 5 are taken and have new moms. Thank you ! still have 3 more to give away!

The first 5 people who post here will have their pick of Magnets as in order of posts. These are heavy and will hold up well. I have a favorite and almost kept it but ya know we artists rarely keep our own work. *Giggle* Besides I simply do not have any time these days. Still trying to get things done and helping Mom has taken all my spare time for creating and sleep. LOL

SO HERE ARE THE RULES

NOW FOR THE RULES... please read carefully as this does get passed on!

Now YOU can receive a treat from ME! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post, and I will send you a surprise!

However, you must know that it will then be YOUR TURN to do the same. Re-post this on your blog with a link back to MY blog and send your treat to 5 people. Your prizes may be ANYTHING that you wish to give and can be very simple.

Marie said that the whole premise was a simple gift for 5 people, with an emphasis on simple.

I hope that the next 5 won't be as slow as I was....

Okay my friends, Dollie and Potato soup don't make themselves.

TDIPT SWAP~

Oh I have been a very busy Pea, yep pretty worn out and spent at this point. Mom's new house is starting to look more like a house then a ship wreck! LOL Now my house is a whole different story. You see Mom clearly has tooo much stuff. So what ever she didn't want has been coming here for the moment and my little house is already full. So many trips to the Good will it will be this coming week.

I haven't done much creating lately and have to shift in to gear. My show is sneaking up on me and so far I have very little inventory. So I will be MIA for awhile longer I am afraid. Mom should have her tags this week on her car so that should help.

I was in my first TDIPT swap for fall and what a fun thing it was to do. I was lucky enough to get Susie of Susie Designs and boy did I get a wonderful painted piece. I just love it to bits. I have it hung up and have been enjoying it every time I go the studio. Not to mention a wee bit of cake, a neat handmade tag, a wee bit of fabric and huckleberry Jam. Daddy and I always got that every summer on our summer trips to Oregon. I miss him so, but know he is at peace and it makes it a wee bit easier.
I loved everything I got from Susie. Her painting is BEAUTIFUL and she sculpts too! Here is my piece from her.

Look at the details on the side. OMG!

Look at all the yummy goodies! My Oh MY!

Now for Susie I made a few goodies. A big witch in black and sweet tart colors. I think she turned out neat. She has a look like she is up to something... LOL can't imagine why she got that *GIGGLE*. We do have one thing in common though. I only have one dimple and so every once in awhile I give a doll a dimple too. Just one. Just like me. LOL

I also made Susie some tags, picked up some trims, her favorite candy and a few other goodies just for fun. It was all fun and I must say that I can't wait to do it again just need a wee bit of time. LOL

See her little Dimple? I just love it. Tee hee

here is the all the goodies that I gave Susie. I think the candy was her favorite. LOL

I have so much to show you will have to do another post tomorrow of another swap I was in. Far behind as always.
TTYS,

Magical Merlin Shaker

I finally finished a new piece. This is my Merlin shaker for pfatt Marketplace. It will be up and going on the 10th which is Thursday.
I don't know how I have managed to get anything done at all with all the work at Mom's house. yes, 13,000 LBS takes awhile to unpack, put down and shift from one room to another. I am a professional Stuff shifter as a good friend calls it. LOL
Mom has unpacked just about everything and the woman at 73 is still going strong. Hubby went on Sunday after me to turn down the hot water heater, drill some holes in the ceiling for hooks for lamps and check on the lock that wasn't working right. He is such a blessing to me right now as he has taken the load here at this house so that I can help MOm. Tomorrow she wants to get 28 things done. WHAT? I don't think so but I will do my best to get as many as possible that she would like done. Gonna be a lot of driving I have the feeling. Good Night Nurse! LOL
I have to hit the hay so I can be up and ready early my friends. Momma don't like to wait.
Have a wonderful week until we meet again. Soon I hope.

My 200th Post

Oh my it took me awhile to reach this point and I am actually surprised it came this early. As you already know I am not the best blogger although I do try my friends.

I am a naughty Pea, I have been given several awards and haven't posted them. My friends I am so sorry. I have been so busy with D Mother that I haven't had time to post them. I will this week my friends but I am too tired to even think this evening.
You SEE my MOmma got a HOUSE HERE! YEAH! that is one piece of good news.
You can see her house in this picture and her there at the door. Isn't she cute? Also a big pain in my @ssets but I love her dearly. LOL
Lots of stuff as mom can't part with anything. She went from 1900 sq.ft to 1100 sq ft and wonders why it won't all fit? LOL
Oh this is a joy though as now I know she will be just 20 minutes from me and 10 minutes from hubby's work.
I spent the night last night so I will be glad to go to bed. I think I will head there now.
Thanks for celebrating with me and forgiving me for my lack of posting. Now you know why, I had to paint and clean the homestead before she got there.
Have a wonderful week and I will post soon I hope!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATERS!

Today is it my friends. Today is my DD 18th birthday. Why, who, what, where did it all go. She has turned into a fine young woman and let me tell ya all that this child gave this gal a run for her money. Along with a few wrinkles and gray hairs. LOL Can you say head strong? LOL A chip off the old block I am afraid. LOL
We are most proud.

Where will she go from here? Well to serve our Great Country. Her plans are to Join the A.F. and fly the coop for new adventures. It will all be bittersweet. I know what ever she decides to do with the A.F. she will be great at it. She is head strong remember? If Katers tells ya she will do it, then she will.
Thank you Katie, for the laughs, tears, the helping hands, love of shoes and most of all for being you. A girl I am proud to call my daughter. I love you MORE! oooxxx

NEW~ Shaker

Hello,
Whew, it is good to sit down for a minute. I have been running so much lately that I am just about ready to fall down and not get up. LOL

I actually got one thing done this week. I made a new shaker His name is Jasper and if you are thinking that Laurie of Monkey Cats studios inspired this piece you are correct. I love Laurie's skelly folk. They are so adorable that I wanted to create one ( my version) in cloth. Now I know that I can never come close to creating the love and humor that she puts in her work but this guy makes me snicker. I think he turned out sweet. He will be going up on the Arts A Flutter site on the first.

I know that many of you are waiting patiently for our good news and celebration. Life has me doing flips and turns, so it is being put on hold for a wee bit longer.I promise you it will be worth the wait. A big celebration this week as the baby of the family turns 18 this friday.
Until then my friend, be safe, have fun and take time to enjoy the day.

Ghoulie and Widow Maker.

My newest creations for TDIPT
I think this little gal is sweet. I love the fabric for her dress/pants and believe it or not sometimes it is hard using a piece of fabric. But if I don't use it and make my dollies shine then why make them at all? So two of my favorite fabrics in this little gal.

I made her a sweet little needle felted pumpkin as well. Widow maker is the wee spider sitting on the pumpkin. I promise ya she is the kind of spiders I like( the fake kind) LOL. She is actually cute and I don't even like spiders much. LOL
HOpe you have a wonderful weekend. I am off to clean the house. I have been working hard and put some things off. Time to get the gardens ready for cooler weather as well.
May you be blessed,Pea

Just a Teaser

We are updating TDIPT at Midnight tonight. Go and see the rest of this wee one there. I think you will be pleasantly surprised by what you find there.

Needing some rest. Dh had me up all night with heart issues and I have a feeling it will be the same this evening. He forgot his meds for two days. MEN!

May you and yours be blessed,Pea

Darjeeling and Pekoe

HANDS OF TIME THEY MATTER NOT.
WHEN ONE IS DEEPLY IN THY THOUGHTS.

DAWN TURNS DUSK AND THEN AGAIN.
TIME IS FOE AND YET A FRIEND.
P.E. SAATHOFF (C)2009

Time, did you see it whip by me and not let me know? Do you have time under control? If you do, could you please tell me how to tie it down? LOL

Darjeeling and Pekoe are the 6th addition to my Hallowed Haunting Collection. Isn't she the definition of spooky sweetness? I just love this doll and her frumpy old bear.
She measures 14 1/2 inches tall. She holds Pekoe and her Granddad's old watch in her hands.

I will be joining TDIPT this month and she will be part of the DEBUT there. I will post the link when it is time to go and see all the eye candy offered. More creations coming soon.

Have the most wonderful week.

BING ~ Just a party animal

BIG PFATT BAT, SILLY OL' BAT
STANDING THERE WITH A SMIRK AND A PARTY HAT!
P.E. SAATHOFF(C)2008

Oh isn't he just silly? I laugh every time I look at him. I have to give credit to DD for helping me with the wings. The kid can draw. Thanks goodness. I don't know what I will do when she leaves home later this year. She is the one that looks to see if my eyes, nose, etc are straight. I guess most of the time I see crooked.LOL Maybe I should wear my glasses. I just hate the thought of them though. I know a vanity issue. I have always had PERFECT eyesight. GEtting old stinks.

Anyway this little guy is going on you guessed it- Pfatt

I am offering free U.S. shipping as well. Back to work for me. Lots to do this week. So many projects and so little time.
Have a great weekend

A ~NEW~ BEAU IN MY LIFE

Oh Poor, poor Mr. Peabody. I am completely smitten with this guy. Sorry honey but this guy won't yack back! LOL

I feel very fortunate to have a Angel whisper into my ear every once in awhile. The wind beneath my wings spoke to me just 2 nights ago with this little creation. She told me I must HURRY and work harder then I have in awhile. Well I listened of course. But who wouldn't?

This is Beau. He is dressed in his finest to try and impress the ladies with his charms. I don't think he will have too many problems.
He is short and stocky but hey that is fine too. Just a little easier to hug to him. LOL He measures 16 inches tall.

At the moment I am torn as to what site to place this charming fellow but I am sure that he will tell me soon.

Now for a bit of fun. Can you guess what Childrens book inspired this piece? I don't know of a single person that hasn't read at least one of this Authors books.
The FIRST person to guess correctly wins a PRIZE!

Have a wonderful evening now back to work for me. I have a new pattern or two coming out.

SOOO ADORABLE

Tee hee, I am so excited. I like to collect art from other artists but like most of you this is fun and has to come last. Limited budget and all like most of us starving artists.
I recently purchased this piece from Lance of Crescent Hill Designs. This is the cutest little thing. He did such a wonderful job. So much detail in such a tiny little guy.
If you get the chance you must purchase one for yourself. I promise YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY. You will fall in love with his humorous soul that speaks through his art.
Now I have to get the frame painted to house this guy and he will be hanging in my studio to give me a does of a daily giggle.
Thank you Lance. Buddy you rock.

Tut Tut wish it would rain...

My friends it has been so very hot here the last few days. Temps above a 100 for my little neck of the woods. Pea is melted and just about a puddle on the floor. LOL

I did manage to work a wee bit last night after it cooled off and worked till early this morning. It was so much cooler and tollerable. I have a small window AC but hate to use it much as the power bills go through the roof. I have it on now as it has been off for awhile.

I couldn't resist making another Mummy shaker. I had so much fun making the first one and well I just wanted to see if I could do it again. I am very happy with how he turned out and think he looks just as good as the original. He makes me giggle.
He will be going on the Arts of Fluter site for the 1st of August.
I have many projects going and the CELEBRATION STARTS NEXT WEEK! I have so many things to announce. I know you all have waited patiently but hang in there just a wee bit longer. I promise it will be worth the wait.
Off to work now that it is cooling off a bit. Have a wonderful week and remember to check back soon!

WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY!

What wonderful day it was today. Bright and sunny. I spent it with my eldest son, his fiance' and my dear daughter.
Jake and Kat picked us up for a very special occasion today. You see my Jake was reenlisting into the A.F reserves for 6 years or until his active duty paperwork comes through. We pray that is soon. So I witnessed him taking the oath to protect us all once again. It was a very proud moment for this old Mom. The Colonel even thanked ME? for helping our son to do this. I thought that was very nice of him. I told him I had no choice. He was gone the second his Dad placed him the cockpit of a F-4 when he was a wee lad of only 3.
If this wasn't enough excitement for the day. Our dear son then took us all on a tour of the Jet you see above. Inside and out. It was so wonderful to see and have him tell us all the things he does. There is a little hatch at the very top of this HUGE plane and they call it the birds eye. You see the top of the plane and all the engines from there. He let us peek out of it and then told us he frequently walks on the top of the plane. OMG? What? That scared me but said they wear safety lines so it they fall they won't hit the ground. You can't believe how big this plane is. Let us put it this way. A 747 looks tiny in comparison. Even showed us where the troops jump out and how they pack the airplane. It was so neat. My Dear Hubby and Dad used to work on this plane as well. So very neat to know about. So it meant all the more to me. Each doing a different job but Jake told me everything each generation did.

I didn't think it would happen today due to the Rodeo as they call it. It is where planes/crews from all over the world and states come and compete for the best crew. My hubby's unit has won several times while he was in and he still has his coins. They give them a coin with the date and best crew. This test is for war readiness. Everything from timing to, emergency service to take off and landing. Very hard judges. It is a honor to be part of this crew. In a few days Jake will know how his unit( his dad's old unit) will fair. I hope they win. Like Father, like son.

I decided after all that we needed to celebrate. so I took the clan to dinner at Red Robin. We had wonderful food and all had Raspberry/watermelon Spritzers. No alcohol although I thought about it! LOL

So that was my excitement for awhile. back to cleaning the house and a bit of dolly making.
Have a wonderful week. Ya never know what you might do next. mmmmmmmmmmmm what could I do to top that? Could be fun finding out.. hee hee

A OLDIE BUT A GOODIE

I like to write poetry. It is in my blood you could say. My Father was a poet, inventor and a fixer of everything. He didn't get to raise me but his blood runs thick in these old veins. He died shortly before my birth. So his poetry is all that I have of him.

Like many things I have to be in the mood to write. It strikes me with no warning and leaves just like the breathe from my body. Clay works is the same as well as painting and collage work. These things do not come easy to me as some of you think. I refer to them as whispers. When one arrives that I like I am grateful and relieved. It sometimes feels like a itch that I can't quite reach. It is meant to be here, but the timing has to be just right as well as my mood. That is the hard part. LOL I am often so wrapped up in so many things that it pulls me away from the whispers. When I finally get to sit down it takes over.
This poem I am about to share was quite a few years ago. I think about 5 in fact. I had made a very eerie make do. I can't find the pictures although I know they are here somewhere.

It is time to be thinking about Halloween items and this poem just might inspire you to create something. Happy Haunting my friends

Blogging is a wonderful thing

Here in blog land I have met so many wonderful people and artists. I have formed new friendships and am still trying to get to know a few. So many thoughtful, caring people come here when I post to read the dribble and daily rhymes of a artist. Someone like many of you, struggles with the multitude of hats, kids, pets and art to juggle. The daily lists of chores and the travel in zippy little cars can take over. We can not respond as quickly to the comments and well wishes as we would like to. I for one do try and respond quickly but I can not spend all day on the p.c.. I am a one woman band of many and girls I do it all. I have to. No choice. Mr. Peabody works long and hard hours on his feet with a disability. When he walks through the door the body, pain take over and he sits until he goes to bed. Yes, he could do a bit more but ya know sometimes our men can not find the motivation needed. We have all had days like that. SO that leaves me. Nope, don't like it but it is what it is. Now you are probably wondering what the point of this dribble is....

A few days ago another artist honored me with a award. I am terrible at these things. I never get them posted in a timely fashion and other then the run on excuses above there is no reason.;)

Sweet Sandy of AwtemNymf gave me the wonderful award and this is what sweet words she had to say about me.

6) Whimsical Endeavors - Lots of sweet patterns. A friendly lady. So crafty, creative & inspirational! Her dolls and needle sculpting is amazing! I love her Halloween stuff *of course*

I feel honored that she thinks well of me. She is a sweetie and you should go visit her blog. She is bright as cherry punch.

Now to pass this lovely award on to some very inspiration blogs. There is so many to choose from so I will only choose 6 this time. I can't be writing all night. My hands would quit on me.:(

Uber (synonym to Super) Amazing Blog Award is a blog award given to sites who:
~ inspires you
~ makes you smile and laugh
~ or maybe gives amazing information
~ a great read
~ has an amazing design
~ and any other reasons you can think of that makes them uber amazing!

* Put the logo on your blog or post.
* Nominate at least 5 blogs (can be more) that for you are Uber Amazing!
* Let them know that they have received this Uber Amazing award by commenting on their blog.
* Share the love and link to this post and to the person you received your award from.

1. Laurie Hardin of Money cat studios-
Laurie makes me giggle. She is hysterical, sweet and a very talented gal. Her artwork comes to life. It has so much depth to it, amazing, and I haven't even seen one up close and personal. One of these days.;)

2.
Sonia my sweet from Dark Ravens Nest
She is a awesome, artist lady. So inspiring, cheerful and the best cheerleader any artist could ask for. Near and dear to my heart.

3. Candy of Howling Moons
Candy is one of those gals that it is truly a pleasure to know. Very giving of herself to others. The kind of person that puts everyone first and herself last. Talented sculpture, Mother, daughter and friend.

4. Angie of Love the prim Look
Angie and I have gotten to know each other a bit over the last few years and it is a pleasure. She is a fun gal that is also giving of herself and others. Especially to our four legged friends. The kind of gal that is always rooting for you during the ups and downs.

5. Jenny of Wonders of Whimsy
AND Allie Cat Rescue

Jenny is a super gal that gives her time, love, money and devotion to our fur babies in the Colorado area. She has spent countless hours chasing kitties, taking them to the vet and up all night helping them through the worst. I think Jenny is a Hero to our kitties. I am inspired by her love and selfless acts of kindness. Thank you Jenny

6.Renae of My little Raggedy blessings
Renae is a new friend but a very kind and giving friend. Always there to cheer us on and also does the most beautiful images and shares with everyone. I look forward to getting to know her more. I am sure it will be a pleasure.

7. There are many more friends I would love to pass this on to but they don't have time for posting right now. You know who you are and are loved for you being you.

Just Silly

Oh what fun I have had for the past two days creating this little guy. Meet Mr. Bone Jangles. LOL Just a silly bone head shaker. Yes, he has a bell on his funky top hat. I love the curled sides of the hat. He kept asking me if his make up was good? Now I know what you are thinking but, this guy is a entertainer. We all know that they wear make up on stage. He is ready to go about charming his audience. Loves to sing and tell Knock knock jokes... Now isn't that silly?

That just might work...

I don't know about you guys but when it comes to shipping items and the ever rising cost,- (despite the fact that Dh works for the Postal Service) I try and get my hands on as many of those little bags of air as I can. So I started thinking of ways I could do the same thing. The cost is the factor. Little bags would be too costly. Then it hit me, why not use balloons!!! They are cheap, I have free hot air- LOL and that would work. Only fill the balloon as much as needed. Could fit in there with the dollies and still be protected and light weight. Much lighter then paper anyway.

So what do you all think? I am excited and am gonna give it a try. I thought we could all use a cheaper way to package our item, so that is why I am sharing.

Have the most wonderful day. Gotta go clean up the house again. I wasn't even home and it is a mess again:(

Golly Be Jolly

I have been a busy girl again. Got my groove on this week anyway. LOL
Some of you might know that on Pfatt Marketplace we are having our annual
~Jingle Time July~. A wonderful array of Holiday offerings. Everything your heart could desire for the Holidays and beyond. Not to mention free prizes from some of the best artists in the business. Be sure to check it out July 10th at Midnight.

As most of you may have noticed I don't get many full dollies done. I have had so many things the past 8 months in the way since Mom needs me now more then ever. So for me to get a full dolly done is something to squawk about. I am tickled beyond giggles about this little guy. He is so very sweet and pictures don't even come close to capturing what I see in that face. Head to toe just adorable. Now how often do you hear something like that from me? LOL

Well my friends I do have to run. The house is a ship wreck and I have to get it cleaned up as it is driving me batty. LOL
I will have something new for you to peek at soon. So stayed tuned to this channel. LOL
Have a wonderful week making memories.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY

I would personally like to Thank all those past and present that have fought to keep this Country FREE as the founders of this Great Nation had planned. We have been bombed, invaded, shattered but never BROKEN!

This Country is strong and will remain strong. We believe in each other and our troops. Please say a prayer for them today as they may celebrate elsewhere.

May you be warm, loved and have a full belly. Be safe and Have a wonderful weekend.

DOUBLE~TROUBLE

Oh I have been up to no good again... No, no, not throwing myself about but planning and playing with witches in the studio... Oh if the walls could talk or if you could hear me chatter to myself you might just run for the HILLS! LOL Just kidding but having a bit of fun for sure.

What is more "witchie" than a TWO faced WITCH? There is two sides to every coin and I couldn't resist doing it again. Last years piece was so much fun why not? Of course it had to be a bit different. Smaller in scale and a box this time so you will have a place to stash a few secrets. I love boxes of any kind. So when I get a idea where a box involved, I get excited. It makes me think of all the uses it has and all the things it could hold.

This is the fourth addition to the Hallowed Haunting collection.
You can find it HERE.

I have listed my HERA witch on ARTS A FLUTTER. She is still available. Pictures do not do these pieces justice. If you have any questions please holler.

Well I have so many things in the works. Later this week we will have a celebration I mentioned or hinted to you, so stay tuned kids as you get to get in on the party. It will be so much fun. Promise!
Off to work I go. Egor is waiting to fire things up so I must scoot before he burns the house down.LOL Have a great Holiday Weekend and be safe!

OUCH!

With so much going on and the list keeps adding I have done the only thing I know how with so much heaviness on my mind. Thrown myself into my studio- head first. LOL

The problem is when you throw yourself head first into something you usually end up with a bruise. Well I got a migraine instead. Sooo I took the heavy meds that leave me feeling icky from the after effects and we won't go there, but the good news is the headache is gone. Yeh! This was one of those that had me in tears and walking like I was hit by a truck. Alas it is over and we can safely and gently move on.

I did manage to get one piece done and have the second with just a few touched to finish and it will be complete. Only about 30 more to go. So many things started and so little time.

This is Hera the Witch, she is so much fun. I really like how she turned out. She has personality that is for sure. Best step lightly. LOL She is the second piece in my Hallowed Haunting Collection.

Where or how does it escape me? I haven't been able to figure that one out. Well Mom called about 30 times today. This and that and well just needed to hear my voice I think. I wish I was closer so I could help her with everything. One day soon I hope.

We won't have word on Alex's tests till later this week I believe. I hope the wait isn't too long. The waiting is the hardest part of it all. The unknown can drag on like a slow fire. Just burning the surface and leaving embers unattended. They seem to drudge up all kinds of thoughts and most of which we should not think. We humans tend to lean towards the worst instead of raising our eyes to the heights of the heavens with hope and love on our lips and minds. This is what I am trying to remain focused on at the moment. There is still hope until stated otherwise. This is what I plan on hanging onto. That and the support and prayers of all my friends and family.
Thank you for being part of my journey and Alex's as well. He is a amazing human being and I wish I could be more like him.

A NEW HEART

Hello Dear Friends,
Let me introduce you to Alex. He is being a big goof here. Alex is a beautiful, bright, gentle, young man. He is the son of my Very Best Friend in the whole world. He is 17 years old and has lived more in this short life then most of us can imagine. You see Alex was born with 15 heart defects.

The only human being on the planet with all 15 and the only person to live with 6 of the most dangerous and live to tell about it. The right side of his heart has been wired, looped, changed and added to do the work for the whole heart. His left ventricle was small and basically non functioning. Alex has lived through 3 open heart surgeries, a stroke at the age of 5 that left him with some paralysis and a pacemaker at the age of 13. Yet, looking at him you would never know it.

The time has come for Alex to need a new heart. He has had all they can do to the one he was born with. The pressure his heart is pumping is causing his lung, liver and arteries to burst holes into them leaking out oxygen. They have all been repaired and this is no longer a option. Alex need a new heart. The next two days are critical. He will under go a battery of tests for the whole two days. His body, mind and spirit will all be tested. After these tests they could simply say (((NO))) he can't have a new heart and that will mean after all this fighting, struggling, and heartache we will loose him.

Alex has a circle of family and friends that love him. They include Mom and Dad, 3 brothers, a 7 yr old sister and a nephew. Not to mention my family and I- his extended family as well. I am asking for prayers, happy thoughts or well wishes. What ever you believe, if you could keep this young man at the top of your list I would appreciate it. It is a fight for life, to the death. We can't loose him yet, He has come too far and has helped so many kids like him in the process. He has been the test patient. They have learned so much about a childs heart because of Alex and saved a few because of it. There is still more to learn. He has much to do in his life. He wants to make a difference beyond what he already has.

So for the next TWO DAYS please keep him in your thoughts. Thank you from Alex, me and his family. He told me he loved me today and he hasn't said that since he was about 3 so you know he is scared. We all are.

go hug your kids. How lucky you are. Blessings,Pea

NEW~Listing on Ebay

I placed my sweet little Skeleton Witch Shaker~Dot on Ebay this evening.
She is so very sweet. The second piece to my Hallowed Hauntings collection. I am going to have loads of fun with this collection. I am dreaming of another collection that I will be starting work on very soon. Are you excited? LOL I know I am.

I am also preparing for a surprise in the works. You will have to be patient with me. I have to wait so you have to wait...

Mom started her journey home yesterday. Will keep you informed on the house situation. She did something typical for her today. She was so excited to get home to her sweet, beloved doggie that she forgot and left her suitcase at the train station. A two hour drive kids. Sooo she has no clothes and has to run back tomorrow and get it. Silly woman. Mom missed her sweet foot warmer and couldn't wait to see her. These days her only companion. I teased her and said she didn't share any more secrets with you this trip. She replied" well I guess next time I will have to pull out the bag of tricks". LOL Oh good Lord, do we really want her to go there? LOL Might make ya run for the hills.

Today was a bit warmer. Nice and sunny day and thank goodness NOT TOO HOT! I hate the heat. So grateful for every warm, sunny day.

I guess that about wraps it up. Not much new except working on some new goodies. Got to get back to the studio for a bit of fun.
Be sure to check out Dot on Ebay.

Have a wonderful week.
Blessings,Pea

Time just seems to roll right by.

June 19th, 1982 seems like a blink of a eye and yet seems like more then 100 years. How can one date hold so much time in a blink of a eye? How did the time whiz right past us? Did we spend so much time making a living that we forgot to take time and enjoy some slow motion?
27 years ago, my Husband- Michael and I were married. I remember the post last year and it doesn't seem like it has been a year already. Then again it doesn't seem like June either. I have been going full steam ahead for so many months that most of the moments in my life lately are simply blinks of a eye. I remember waking, having tea and toast. Zooming about like a mad hatter and then laying my ragged head on the pillow for a bit of slumber one more time. The good thing is I still get to wake to the beauty around me and love in my heart.
Michael is a wonderful man and has so many qualities I admire most in people. I am blessed that he puts up with this short, tempered( ha ha) redhead. I always tease him and tell him I am worth it. LOL

As we planned our lives together,I knew the day would come when our children would grow up. Be finishing high school and moving on to college, marriage and children of their own. I also knew that one day my father would leave this world and I would be caring for my Mother till she was a 100 and still full of it. LOL I just didn't expect is so quickly.
I look back on my life and remember special moments but the everyday has fallen to the back of the memory banks for a moment when peace comes upon me like the fog. Sliding in slowly until nothing in sight remains but white mist. The mist has been replaced at the moment by the ever ending clicks of a ticking clock, running errands, spending hours in a zippy little car, chasing dog food and houses. I am craving solitude, a strong cup of tea and a sewing machine. That moment in time will have to wait. I pray it comes soon.

My heart is restless and over thrown with guilt. Guilt for things that should be done and yet unfinished. Guilt that my poor husband has fixed himself dinner everyday this week. I haven't even seen or hugged him in two days. Guilt that tomorrow as I celebrate another year of bliss with my dear Husband, my Mother grieves for hers as this was the day they met. Guilt that I can not make the things happen for my Mother that I would like to happen in a timely fashion. I know I have no control over the housing market and if I did they would all be cheaper- I tell ya that! LOL At least for a week or two. Yes, I know I shouldn't feel this way my friends but you can not change these feeling sometimes. I am not looking for pity just spreading words onto a page. My mind and hands want to write and so this is the task at hand that I must complete. With that being said I think what my heart had to say has been spoken. So I will flip the page.

I hope I haven't sent you into a coma from complete boredom. I will have some news and maybe even a celebration to share where you could enjoy the excitement more then expected. So stay tuned my friends. I have the tea pot on and things are stirring about. Now that I cleared some of the cobwebs and gathered dust off the old cellar, maybe I can get Egor to fire up the electrodes and zap some life into the random body parts laying around the house. mmmmmwaaa ahhhaaa! See this is why your mom tells ya to pick up after yourself! LOL
Have a wonderful weekend. Don't worry I will be back to stalk you soon.
hugs,Pea

Way to GO, Katie!

Well Folks last Saturday our Daughter graduated high school. We couldn't be prouder of her. She has become very bright, sweet and caring young woman with loads of promise to offer this world. Her plans are to join the U.S. Air Force early fall and study law enforcement. Her dream is to work with a special victims unit. Katie has a passion to help those that have been handed a wrong so great that it is life changing. She told me one day, "I can't change what has happened to them, but maybe I can make a difference to where they go next." Pretty deep for such a young woman.
Pookey Bear we are all so proud of you and we know that you will make a difference. You already have to us! Love you dearly.

Now I know some of you are wondering how the house hunting is going. NOT good at all.
We lost out on the really mint, cute house. Out bid, over budget and that was that. Spent all day and ruled out 7 of 51 before we got out the door due to area. That stinks because one of them was a sweet looking little house from the outside. Another one was perfect size but a short sale- DARN! Incase you don't know, a short sale is where the seller asks the lenders if they can sell the house for less then owed. It is a exercise in frustration and so was the entire day. The banks don't answer you for up to 6 months hoping to get more money. If they don't like the idea of it, maybe they could simply say NO!

One house was great neighborhood but crappy house and personally I think the agent that listed it is on crack! LOL Falling apart and wants a fortune for it. Others were worse. In two trips we have eliminated 19 due to area. Viewed this trip 28 , last trip was 22. Bid on 4 houses total between two trips and it looks like she will have to return. Said it will be the last time. We won't even try again after 3 rd trip. will stay in Montana by herself and folks that can't happen. How will I sleep at night? WOn't sleep let us just say that. I will have to commute and that will be very difficult. If you are a believer and pray we could use all that I can get at the moment. Our Agent said he would call if something came on the market but with the 1 st time buyers credit, the houses are selling in her price range as fast as they come on, they are gone the same day. Very frustrating. So we really do need a house. To make it even more frustrating she will not sell her house and move in with us till she finds a house. Won't put her house on the market until she has a home purchased. Yes, stubborn as a brick. Won't budge, break or bend.

I haven't been able to work at all this week. I really want to get into the studio and create a little something but hasn't happened yet. I hope to get to play for a wee bit tomorrow. She is leaving she says on Thursday if she can. I think more houses will come on market during the weekend. I just have that feeling and she will miss out. I am gonna try and talk her into waiting till Tuesday.

okay everyone it is very late. I am buttered toast and ready for bed.
Have a great week and I will update you when I know more.
Blessings,Pea

Whew~ what a day

Hello Everyone,
I have been a busy girl. Besides the graduation stuff and Mom being here house hunting I was also helping my eldest look for a diamond. I am happy to announce she said YES! I am very excited. We all adore Kat. She is a sweetie.

I managed although I look back now and wonder how I got anything done but managed to get a shaker done.

This one is called Dot. She is a sweet little bewitching Skelly. How cute is that? I just love her and she so makes me giggle. Silly thing

I know this is short, but I have to email the agent and get to bed. Have to be up at 6 am and if you know me I am not a morning riser. This early crap is killing me.

The real fun begins

Hello Everyone,
I know I have been absent but have good reasons. Momma rolled into to town on Friday so it is rocking and rolling for the house hunting again. She has me a bit worried though but will just have to wait and see how things go over the next few days.
We had Senior Prom last night. There were suits to adjust, borrowing a dress as the one planned no longer fit my poor daughter. Finding special undergarments to work with a halter dress and so on.
Then there was shopping for presents for upcoming graduations and such but I will tell you that secret later. They might be watching.

Did I mention that I was getting ready for the updates for the websites too? WHEW! I am wiped out. I still have one project to complete and gonna see if I can beg for a wee bit more time. Just not enough hours in the day...

This little painting is inspired by Suzi Blu and I think it is adorable. I love the colors and how it turned out. It is available for sale at Arts a Flutter

As well as this little fairy wand. It is also a mixed media piece. I enjoy making them. They are a lot of fun and give me a break from the sewing machine.

I also completed a dolly for Wsoapp
She turned out so sweet looking. Her skirt is made from a vintage wedding dress sleeve. Not at all what this dolly was supposed to be. Started her about 2 months ago and had to redo her twice as what she was supposed to be someone had the same idea just a few days earlier. So changed directions completely and I can't say that I am not happy about it.

I created a pretty little box as well. I love this box as it is so different from anything I have ever made. Kinda makes me think that my creativity is returning. Just a little at a time. Still have a lot of work to do but seem to be getting there.

So as you can see I have NOt been sitting around enjoying the weather. Although I will get to see more of it over the next few weeks driving each day.
Hope all is well with you my friends. Have some fun for both of us!
Blessings,Pea

So very honored

In this life of internet we get to "meet" many people through the comfort of our favorite chair. We chat with them about art, everyday woes, and special moments. The special moments seem to be the ones that visit less frequently but which makes them all the more special.

Even though it is very difficult at times to really get to know someone through this invisible barrier sometimes we feel a special friendship or kinship.

Sonia of the is one of those special people that I have had the pleasure of getting to know a wee bit through her postings, sweet comments and wonderful sculptures. She stops by often and always with a smile and encouraging word. Thank you for that Sonia.

Sonia bestowed me with a award. A honor and I gladly accept it. She said and I quote"
10. Pea....Oh you always make me laugh..and inspire me with your determination."

I am not really sure what she meant by... inspiring her with my determination but I will take it! I love that I can inspire someone. It makes me feel like I am giving something without even trying. LOL Doing and not working at it is always a GOOD THING!

So this is the award and I will pass this on to a few people. These people honor me with their friendship, spirit and guide me when I feel lost. There are a few that will not be listed but you know who you are...T~, GYW~ and MO. These are in no special order.

- The Blogger must present the Noblesse Oblige Award in concurrence with the Award conditions

- Blogger must display the Award at any location at their Blog
I pass this award on to a few people! If you have received this award before of get over it and just put another notch on your belt.

1. Renee- girl you are always such a speedy girl trying to catch you is like chasing stars but I admire you for your drive and down home humor.

2. Jenny of Wonders of Whimsy
Jenny, I admire you greatly for your drive to save all the kitties and still find time to create art for your home and others. Now you have added school to your list. You go girl!

Binky Bunnies

Yes, I have actually been working. Not the slacker that I sometimes appear to be. LOL
I had a special order from a very dear friend from church. She wanted 2 binky bunnies to represent her two daughters. One daughter has pretty blue eyes and the other big brown eyes with flecks of golden sunshine. So I made 2 little bunnies in fabrics that she picked from my stash pile. She wanted them to be different but have a few things in common after all they are sisters. Funny though when I gave them to her we found out the the doll for the older sister was just a wee bit taller. Purely by accident. I guess that was a higher power at work because the same pattern was traced and sewn. Isn't funny how each doll we make takes on a life of it's own. I am happy with them and so is the owner. They are really very sweet. I suck at taking pictures and I know you all probably know it. LOL I promise ya it is something I am working on. My dolls are so much better in person.

These bunnies really took on the look of the girls. Well the eyes anyway. After all I don't remember seeing long wired ears on either of them. LOL

So now I am working on new stuff for the sites. Infact I want to go to the studio for a few hours. I have to hit the hay early as there is church in the am. I didn't go last week or the week before. Naughty Pea was spending some much needed time resting and playing hookie with Mr. Peabody. So I best not be a heathen any longer and get to church. LOL
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Bought myself a present

It isn't very often that I buy myself something other then supplies. I buy supplies often and sometimes too often.*wink*
I love art. All kinds really but folk art and especially for Halloween is my favorite. I have made many pieces of art over the years and have only kept 3. Two are for halloween and the other is a snowman I will never part with.
So when a good deal comes around from a artist that I admire I snag it up. It is almost always Halloween. This time it came early for me. I had seen Tonya's of Back Porch Pickins ~NEW~ All Hallow Eve's cones. I fell for the spooky one.

I had to have it and was a good deal too. I got it yesterday and it is so wonderful. You can't see all the details until you get it in your hot little hands. LOL It will look perfect with a stitchery I did up a few years ago. For now it is hanging in my room. I am enjoying it along with a few of my other special art pieces.
She also sent along some paper pretties for me to enjoy. Everything was wrapped so very nice. She is a excellent wrapper. Thank goodness to cause it looked like the some Post office on the way drop kicked my box. I kid you not.!
well I have to go finish up some bunnies. One is done and the other is so very close. Don't fret I will share tomorrow. Then must get moving on other things. So many projects so little time.
Have a excellent day.

Just a wee little teaser

I am working on a new piece for a new collection. The Collection will be called Hallowed Hauntings.
I was working hard last night on this piece and then my thoughts starting rhyming. So I thought what a perfect way to get you thinking about what this piece could be or look like. I finished the poem in about a half hour which is NOt the norm for me.
Now tell me what you think it might be or look like based on this poem. Tee hee. This should be lots of fun.

AGONY

Your time has come, your clocks run out.
Agony's here without a doubt.
You refused to listen, refused to heed your warnings given to do a good deed.

She's come to take you,to the place beyond.
Not heaven nor hell, where there is no time to tell.
Through shadow of darkness, stench of mist.
Your chance forgotten, your good deed missed.

So heed the warning of Agony's moan.
Be kind now or walk alone.

Sneak Peek

Just a few peeks of my latest creation for Pfatt Marketplace
This piece speaks to my heart. Named after a song that Daddy and I used to enjoy.
PFATT will be launched tonight at Midnight.

My gosh will you look at the time? I laid down to take a little nap earlier after supper. I had a headache and the next thing I know it is one AM. So now what? I am up and awake for at least a few hours. I think I will check my email and go back to bed. Start the day over a little later *giggle*..
Nighty, night my friends.

A DAY WITH A VIEW

Yesterday Mr. Peabody and I went out to Scenic beach and walked along for a bit of a quiet break. It was so very nice. There is this old Craftsman style house up there called the Emel House. It was built back in 1912. It is awesome. I love the stone fireplace, porch and the view is stunning. I will share more pics later. Just a few today.

We took some photos and chatted. So very relaxing. Yep, skipped church so we will be heathen's for another week. LOL

Went to Home depot afterwards and got a few plants. Just some herbs and a couple bell peppers to start. Hope to plant those in a day or two when the weather clears up.
I have to pack it all up tonight to hit the show. I set up tomorrow and it starts on Thursdays. Hoping it is a good weekend.
This is the latest piece I created for the show. Just something small and fun.

Have a wonderful week and I will post updates soon.

~ NEW~ ArT

I managed to get one little piece done for Arts a Flutter this month.
It is a piece that serves double duty. A wonderful piece of art as well a memo holder so it is useful as well.
I don't work in this medium very often but really enjoyed it this time around. I just wish the pictures did it justice. It is so much sweeter in person. Very hard to capture this piece.

Here is just a little teaser. Or you could visit the site to see the rest. I will show you more of it tomorrow.
I am going to bed. Totally toast. Fighting something.

Just checking in

Hello Everyone,
Well I have been rocking right along for the items for the show. I will try and remember to take the camera. Don't have but a week left and don't have much so far but something is better than nothing. Getting my website stuff as well has me stretched really thin but I am getting it done. Only so much of me to go around. Wish I could convince my family of that.
Tomorrow is my son's birthday. To be technical about it he is already older as he was born overseas. We will have the whole gang and all their partners here for dinner and yours truly will be cooking a big ol' meal again. He wanted my beef stroganof for dinner. It is yummy but takes about a hour to cook. I won't even arrive back home from golf practice for the kids until about 6 pm. What we do for our kids.
Ty will be 23. I feel so old. Where has the time gone? I feel like I have spent it in the spin cycle of the washing machine. Just plain dizzy. All so much of a blur. I guess I am feeling like that because of this month. It is going to be that way for awhile I am told by my family as there are all these upcoming events. I need a vacation I tell ya. Calgon stinks so that is out. LOL
Well I must go back to the dungeon before Egor makes a mess.
Have a great week.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TYLER. WE LOVE YOU!

Fairy God Mother Frogettes

I have listed the pink and aqua one of these little darlings on ebay. They are so very sweet. Just click on the word EBAY and it will take you there.

Working on some collage work today. Thank Goodness no golf today as there is a match. Katie hasn't gone much. Poor thing there was no way to get her there with my Mom here and that nightmare.

I should have another something to show you later tonight. Until then my friends have a wonderful day.

Cheap, quick and easy

Now that I have your attention! Ha Ha. No NOT Me! I am not that type of girl.

I thought I would share a little something with you. There are always last minute gifts needed it seems to come at the worst time. Like when we are broke. Paid all the bills and nothing extra for such things. Your daughter's best friends Mom is having a birthday and she has taken the girls to dance everyday for 2 months while you work. That kind of thing.
I am always on the hunt for things that I can whip up quick. Can be made cheaply and easily.
I found these frames at the dollar store. I bought three. Plain and boring but so many things you can do.

I often fill with card stock frames and use rub on's on the front.
I happen upon these vellum sheets at the craft store the other day. They are so very neat. I bought three of them for about 49 cents each.

Now look how neat they look all done. These were the perfect size for these frames. It took about 2 minutes to cut the bottom bar code off and slip it into the frame. NOw I know they aren't prim, but a lot of folks out there that like just simple stuff. Perfect.

So I have THREE great gifts that cost under 5.00 for all three. Can't beat that with a stick.

Hint* grandparents love these with new shots of the kids.
Have a wonderful day my friends.

Something New

My dolly is sitting there not finished. I am stuck. I hate that but she is missing something and haven't see what it is yet. Been in a slump lately. Scramble, rush and all that from Mom being here, kids, pets and especially poor Mr. Peapod.
As I stated earlier I have a show coming up. Have to get as much done as possible so I decided to do this painting last night. Got it all done. I have never been a painter. Have a family full of beautiful painters and artist but never was one of them. I just play with fabric and what ever else I get my hands on. This was so much fun. I had a ball. Inspired by Kelly Roberts. Lots of techniques in her book to try and play with. any of you painters out there with tips on how to improve I welcome your suggestions.

I like the way this turned out. I think it is sweet. It is going to the show. I have some other painting I am working on along with a list of everything else. Time to rush and scramble again to have a few things for it. Won't have near what I ususally do but a few dollars in inventory is better than none.
Off to cook dinner and list some items on ebay.
Have a great evening.

The results are in...

No cause for celebration I am afraid. The house did NOT pass inspection. We have mold in the garage and not just surface like I had thought. Much deeper. Then the inspector said that under the house was like a trampoline. Need a sump pump or a curtain drain. along with a furnace, kitchen updates, dishwasher, move the washer and dryer in the house and a host of things she wanted to do. All costing money and she is tighter than bark on a tree. So she is walking away. The agent is still hopeful but I know Mom when she says no, she means NO!

Mom will have to fly out here again and that costs her a fortune. She has to kennel her big dog. So don't know when that will happen. I can only hope that there are more homes available when the time comes and that means for someone to loose their house. How sad is that? I feel terrible about that, really I do but the only way Mom will get a suitable house. Unless there is a miracle. Which I know happens.

So right now I am pretty bummed. I miss her terribly even though she drives me bats. She had a big scare not to long ago one in Dec and one last month. The first in Dec they thought she was having a heart attack, the other was the symptoms of one but was a severe allergy reaction to Lysol spray. They even had to put her on steroids. So having her here is a must, not just a wish. Not only that but I am the only one who could/would take care of her if she became ill or lost her mind. We already know she will be deaf and hearing aids will not help. All nerve damage.

Well have to go hug my hubby. He is cleaning his room for Mom to live in even though that isn't gonna happen just yet. She is too stubborn. Then off to cook dinner as I am starved and have class tonight. Got to scoot.
Enjoy another picture taken by my best friend.

Recovering

I had to take a few days to regain my strength after Mom's visit and all that driving, meetings, house hunting and etc. I put almost a 1,000 miles on my car in one month. That is with Katie's golf and Mom's visit. Going to Port Orchard every day sometimes twice a day from here is a LOT of MILES. Don't know how many exactly around (25 miles one way) but it is almost 40 minutes or more by freeway to the office.
I am completely wiped out and it starts again tomorrow. I will be up and out of here bright and early. I have to go to the inspection on the house she found. If it passes and all goes well it will be hers. Prayers appreciated if you are so inclined to do so. I am praying this is the one. She has returned home and would be very costly for her to return again. Not only that she has to sell her current home, pack and move yet. The home needs some things done. A few minor repairs, paint, a new bit of carpet in the livingroom and hallway. A furnace will be the biggie and a few windows. Still the best house all around for her.
I will have to paint along with a laundry list of other Honey Do's but I hope to work on it a little at a time. I have some helpers here so that should will be okay.
Currently working on a few projects of my own and trying to get ready for a show that is sneaking up on me fast.
I hope to have a dolly for eBay tomorrow. Been a long time since I have listed a dolly on ebay. I will announce it if I do. Until then my friends enjoy some sunshine and flowers.
Blessings,Pea

What a week- WOW is all I can say.

Oh what a week it has been. NUTS I tell ya. I am starting to see a trend here and not really sure I like it too much. LOL
My p.c. crashed last weekend. It is up and running now but what a nightmare that was.
Momma flew in last wed and since then it has been non stop. She has 7 days to find, buy and complete a sell of a home on a very limited budget along with a list of demands that make it difficult. They don't seem unreasonable but in this area it is hard to find these things unless you own the bank. She did make a offer on a home but now is telling me that she doesn't really like the home at all! Oh gosh well they probably won't accept the offer anyway. So now we will have 3 days to find a new house. Oh boy. Next week will be insane for sure with me running dd to golf. Mike has jury duty so he won't be able to help out.

In the mean time my 73 year old mother taught me who is ut-hum 45 how to strip tease. LOL apparently our neighbor at one time growing up was a stripper. She she showed me how to do it without ever showing a thing. LOL You all wondered where I got "it" from well there ya go! LOL Oh she is a hoot. Here is the pictures in case you also wanted to know. Cracks me up! Now you know why she was happily married for 42 years.

WHAT A HOOT SHE IS!!!

I did manage to get some frogs done. I used a great pattern from Soft in the Head. They turned out so cute. These are Fairy frogettes- magic makers in training. Baby Fairy Frog Mothers. They make me giggle. Oh so sweet and 3 total available. Pink, aqua and green. You can find them at my WSOAPP page if you want to know more about them.

Aren't They sweet!

Well I have to go create for a little while before bed. I am beat but itching to get somethings done tonight. Have a wonderful happy Easter. I will try and find a post card for you all to use on your baskets.

Thank You Tonya

Friends are one of lifes most precious gifts. I have been blessed to have met so many wonderful folks through the internet and Tonya of Back Porch Pickins in one of them.
I had asked Tonya if I could hire her to make me a new banner. She told me on my birthday that this was my gift. I would have to wait as she is always so very busy but worth the wait it was. Look at this wonderful banner. Tonya knows that butterflies hold a special spot in my heart. Something between my Daddy and I. So she placed a few in my banner. Isn't that nice.. I love the old feel of it and yet it suits the whimsical side of me to a T or should I say P? LOL Thank you Tonya it is beautiful!

I know I have been absent but I have been running, working and more like a mad woman. I have so many projects and sites due all at once. Not only that but the normal tasks of kids, Mr.Peabody, house, pets and taking all of them where they need to go. You may not see much of me this week as I am preparing for my Mother's visit. She is coming for a short visit and to look for a house. We need to find her something in only a weeks time. YIKES. So I have to get this place in tip top shape as she has severe allergies. So I will be running again not to mention the golf thing is still on going.

I thought I would show you a little sneak peek of one of my items for the new site
ARTS A FLUTTER( CLICK HERE) It UPDATES TONIGHT at 10 PM.
I am so excited and actually managed to get three items done for the opening of the site. That is amazing with all that I have been up to lately. Now to bust my butt to get the rest of the stuff done this week. Yikes.
Okay everyone I must scoot if I am to get anything done. Have a wonderful week and play nice.

I just love Spring Give Aways

A very kind, gal over at Prim 4 HIm is having a give away. A lovely little bird, 2 nests and goodies to be added. If that doesn't make you think of spring no matter what the temp in your world nothing will. Ahhhhhhhh spring, I personally can not wait!

Now I am off to have a bit of fun tomorrow. My car is back and well we might be broke but I can at least hit the grocery store. What the hey the car only cost me 1200 dollars to be fixed. A small price to pay really when you think it could have been the trannie! Thank God it wasn't. Hey I might even get to go to church this weekend. whoo hoo.
Have a wonderful weekend making memories.

Things are looking up a bit.

Well today I am feeling a bit better. Talking not so much like I swallowed the biggest frog on earth the bad news is DD got my frog. OH boy. Even being sick today she had the biggest news and couldn't wait to tell me. Her name was in the local Paper the Bremerton Sun. She was in the sports section of the paper as the first Upcoming player to watch for her golf team. She was on cloud nine as the list came in order from the coach. Whoo hoo- you go little girl! He told us she is a natural and thrilled to have her on the team. Wish she had joined her freshman year.. Oh well things turn out the way they are supposed to be I guess. She does love it and I know this because Katie hates the cold and yet she never complains when she is on the field freezing her toots off chasing a little white ball.LOL

The mechanic called today and the new computor for the car is in. Now have to wait for another part tomorrow. But hopefully will have the car soon. I can't wait to be able to go out again. Wasn't it me a few days ago complaining about being in the car? LOL Can't win all the time I guess.
Well I am off to work. With being sick I haven't got much done. I would only work for short spurts and go to bed. Can't sew if your eyes are crossed.
Have a wonderful weekend. I looking to going to the quilt shop to spend some free pennies on fabric. whoo hoo free fabric I love those words together. LOL
Blessings,Pea

P.S. it won't let me load the picture. Our new router showed up today so hopefully that will fix the internet problems we have had.

Mistaken Delivery

Okay, I think there has been a mistake. We were delivered some snow and in fact about 5 inches of this cold, perfect powder and well I might be yours? If it is yours could you please and come and pick it up? I hate to keep it if it belongs to you. Keeping you from using your shining skis, sleds and let us not forget about the kids who want a snowday to have a good old fashioned snowball fight.
Come ON OVER!

I woke up this morning with every intention of going to church till I looked outside. Then though okay go to town instead. Talked DH into going. Ofcourse we have to use his car as mine is still broke. Than it kept on snowing. He said I will hit the little store instead. It is still snowing as we speak. Good grief. Big old flakes. It was 50 something just the other day and DD was wearing shorts for golf. Mother Nature is off her rocker is all I can say.
Well I guess I won't be taking the car back tomorrow. OH boy fun, fun to wait some more. Well I am getting sick anyway. I have been dodging this cold for months and I think it finally caught up with me. Joy oh joy!
Have a good one.

Happy birthday Jacob!

My boy is 25 today. WOW where did the time go? It seems like yesterday I was tug him around like a football. First day of school, first girlfriend, first so many firsts there are just too many and I am honored to have been witness to most of them. He is such a nice guy too. Serving this great Country of ours, still finding time for the ones he loves. The kind of kid that you can call in a moments notice and he is right there willing to help any way he can. Very much like his Father in that aspect. I couldn't be prouder of him and who has become.
we are having a little dinner, cake and ice cream. YEH I GET CAKE!! LOL After this week I think I need some. Nothing fancy but love and time.
Must scoot and get the dinner going. He requested beef stroganoff but it is yummy.
Have a wonderful day. The sun is shining so this is wonderful in a rain forest.

Just a horrible day

This week has been aweful. Everything that could go wrong has. Ever have one of those weeks?
Today was just the icing on the cake. I melted. My God Mother( Sue's Mom) is in the hospital and was given the grave news that she has colon cancer- which is what took my precious Sue's life. My mom had to put down my Dad's dog whom I loved very much. Seems like another piece of me went to heaven with him.
Then my car almost broke down on the stinking freeway. Off we were two kids in the car to the on ramp and my car won't go. All of a sudden it jerks and then goes. Thought maybe just hit the gear somehow. Doing okay but still feel something not right. Get to town and had a list of things to get for my son's birthday dinner/ celebration tomorrow evening. We ended up leaving town, calling for help/possible tow. We made it home but it was scarey for me. Now I have no gift for my beloved Jacob, and had to change the dinner plans.
I was going to town to buy some needed items as well and now probably won't have the funds for those with the car repairs. Sometimes life just stinks. I am just angry and feeling a bit broken. Just needing to vent. Sorry, just needed to get it off my chest.
Going to go and try and work. Doubt if I will be able to but I will attempt to anyway.

for the love of PETE!

Girls, I have been living in my car for the last 5 days and I am just about ready to move the pillows and blankets in there. That would be one way to get some sleep.
My Gosh, the "child" the only one left Thank Goodness has had me running here and there, yonder and back. Now it is 17 miles to town and 17 miles back. so guess how many times I have had to fill up the car? If someone guess right I will give them a e-pattern. How about that?
Gas is about $2.18 here for reg. unleaded. I can't use that of course so it costs me about 2.30 a gallon.
DD decided that since it is her senior year she wanted to play sports. So golf it is. The other sports that were available cost 500.00 in equipment so that was out of our budget sadly. But they can't have it, do it all ya know.
Thanks to a friend for hunting for me, I got the clubs at a steal, bought the balls and t's yesterday. Along with her meds and physical. Oh let us not forget the bee sting kits- yes very important but grand total for yesterday was about 300.00 bucks and that was before lunch and gas.. LOL In the tank girls. No naughty thinking aloud. LOL

Now I know that I said I would show some goodies, but I have surprised their new owners so I must wait a few more days before they arrive as I know she sneaks on here once in a while.
I have WIPs on the table and working like a mad woman when I am not driving.
Hope to show them soon.
So beside the running for DD I was also going to the bank here for my mom. She said to pick up a check for her. Well I have been to the bank since Sunday everyday. I called to let her know that it still was not here. LOW and behold it wasn't a check but a money gram. GOod lord now I feel stupid for getting tickie with the gal on the other side of the counter. So tomorrow- you guessed it, I have to go back to town. UGH get that and then run a few more errands. I wanted and needed to stay home. I may have to skip church this weekend and just stay home and work. That might be nice to sleep in too. I have witnesses I have been getting up early. Okay anything before 11 is early for me. But early like in 8:30 or 9 am. That is something for me to brag about since I am a night owl. I have been known to stay up till 7 am and then sleep for 5 hours and get up and do it again.
Alright then off and running. I am actually yawning and running out of steam. Will have to hit the hat soon but need another coat of paint on something first.
Have a wonderful day.
Hugs,Pea

P.S. my girl friend Kris took this picture of a local town last fall. Pretty huh?
It is cold here and snowed so I thought we could use a little sunshine. Enjoy.

Down Memory lane

As a child, I was lucky enough to have a Mother that sewed and loved doing so.
My Mother made a lot of clothes for me as a child and young woman. She even made some designer clothing for me when I was pregnant with my kids.
Every Easter and Christmas without fail My Mother sewed a red dress for me. I am a red head and hated to wear red and still do but it is my favorite color. My Daddy liked red. So he picked the color, I picked the fabrics and Mom made the pattern then the dress. She started sewing at the age of 10 for herself when she got her first job. She did laundry and babysat for the neighbors to buy fabric.

One year Momma made me this dress. Butterflies are my thing. Always have been. So she made this dress for me for Christmas. Out of all the things she has made me and there are 100's of outfits this was my favorite. The funny thing is I hated dresses except at Christmas. My dolly had a matching outfit but I don't know where that went. She saved this dress and the bottom skirt was turned into a coming home outfit for my eldest son when he was born.
I came across this picture the other day and all those wonderful memories came flooding back. I know I was a goofey looking kid but I am showing you this picture despite that fact.
I never have sewn for my kids. Oh little things but no clothing. I never enjoyed making clothes for people. I often tease my Mother and tell her that dolls don't complain if the arms are too tight.. LOL

I was curious if any of you doll makers/artists have a story to tell about your favorite outfit?

I had a very busy day today and am just dog tired. So off to bed I go my friends.
I hope to show you some goodies tomorrow. We shall see how much I can get done if I get some rest.
Hugs,Pea

Terrible Pea

Oh what a week I tell ya. Dh was so very ill. He is doing better but the doctors only medicated the problem instead of dealing with it. I just won't even go there with ya'll. I was trying to work- yeh right, and I simply forgot to share my goodies from the Love tokens swap you all. Just in case you missed that part of it.
Tonya of Back Porch Pickins
made me these wonderful goodies. Wrapped so nicely, and behold a sweet little lady box, note pad and glittered heart and a cupcake candle. Everyone knows how I love cake. I love all my goodies and Tonya does such nice work. Thank you my friend for swapping with me.

I also got my prize from Angie of love the prim look
she had a give away and I guessed right so I won a set of her wonderful lights. OMG don't ya know they are birthday cake scented! LOL I am in heaven I tell ya. I think I will hang them up in my studio. It will smell like cake and I will never want to leave. LOL Then maybe I will get something done. Thank you Angie, I love them. I will have to add the picture tomorrow. It is late and I don't have batteries charged for the camera.

well off to read my book. It is due tomorrow. Have a wonderful Sunday.

ALMost got a dolly!

Tonya and I were matched up for a valentines swap. I was most excited yesterday when I returned from town to find her box. I couldn't get it open fast enough. All so carefully packaged. I got it open and here is a card addressed to Jenny.
ut-OH! I knew that Jenny was getting a package as well, a sweet little Daisy dolly.
I called Tonya afraid to open the package any further thinking it was for Jenny. She said open it. I did and there was the sweetest of Dollies. Oh how I wanted to keep her but Tonya threatened me with bodily harm. LOL Then Jenny would be flying out here to kick my butt too! But I did get to see her and all the tiny little details that went into her.
Soo for a moment she was mine! Ya know love something and set it free, it will come back to you! Ha ha wishing thinking. BUT I do have something to LOOK forward too! a wonderful swap package. I can't wait to see the goodies.

Tonya did how ever get her package( knuckle head) LOL. I made her a pin keep with a tiny kitty on it.

It turned out so cute and she is always showing us pictures of her furr babies. That was my inspiration. I made it so she can have it out year round if she likes. I think this swap was fun and maybe join another one in the future.
Have a PURR-FECT valentines day my friends. I will be creating this evening. Hope to have pictures soon.

Oh Naugty, naughty kitty! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Oh I could just spit nails at the moment. I am very mad at what is a seemingly sweet face- my Bootsie. I keep my studio closet closed cause she likes to get in there and knocks stuff down. If that is all she had done I would be upset but would get over it in a few minutes. Nope, not that easy.

I keep my nice tissue in my closet. Ya know the kind we use for something special. Like the stuff I got for the valentines swap. I had it all in there. Matching tissue, tags and etc. Well Boots got in there to and made a nest out of it. But not just one sheet mind you. A entire stack of about 12 different tissues with 10 to 20 sheets each. It is all ripped and shredded. She even ate some of it. Not to mention my bag collection. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Just look at the mess she made. Not even big enough to cut and use half. So I saved what I could and that ended up being about 5 sheets.

I am keeping the other for scrap booking stuff. Now I will have to replace my tissue collection for those special things. I even had Mom's tissue in there for Mother's Day. A pretty blue/brown.

Durn cat anyway. She knows I am mad at her. She keeps trying to suck up. Maybe tomorrow it will work.

Hope your day was better then mine. SOrry just had to vent.

Hugs,Pea

I will miss her!

Oh sometimes we create things that really makes us smile or giggle. This is one of those dollies.

I have been enjoying her and greatly enjoyed making miss Flora the Fairy FRog Mother. But she is spreading her wings and flying to Texas to live with a new dear one in need of many wishes granted. Right after I get her to MAKE IT STOP SNOWING!!! LOL
This was made from a Soft in the Head pattern. I just added my own twist to a wonderful pattern. Thank you Pam for sharing it with us.

Now I must get to work. Trying to finish up my list of creation in the studio. The chatter boxes in there are starting to gang up on me. Oh dear, Oh my what will I do? LOL

Have a wonderful day my pretties. I will be back soon.

Blessings,Pea

Just a scary moment

Have you ever done something that you didn't want to do but knew you had to? Something that made you shake in your boots? Afraid that others would judge you and make you self conscious?

I did one of the things today that made me feel just that way. I got up at my church and spoke to the whole congregation. I was shaking so badly that I could barely stand or hold the microphone. I must say that it was easier when I was a kid in debate and drama. I had a lot less nervousness and didn't care so much what people thought.

In the end I did it and did better then I thought I would do. I did my part and they better not ask me to do that again for awhile. LOL

Now I must get back to work. I have to get ready for class tomorrow. My gosh, my life is so busy lately. DD is keeping me hopping with all the senior stuff, helping out others, church, my home work and then the ususal wife stuff. I need some good sleep.

IN the picture above you will see my lady Bug shaker for Pfatt this month. I think she turned out sweet. I am working on some new ones this week. Stay tuned and have a wonderful Monday.

Just a few of my favorite pictures- except one

Some really big fish they caught!

Miss Bootsie

A good friend I once had.

Just a pretty girl

Kinda a James Dean Look

Okay. so I love Nerds! What can I say?

*GULP*Okay it is me, don't like it but it is what it is. Now that is all the sharing you are gonna get! For now anyway.LOL
Have a good one.

Tag you are it!

Jenny of Wonders of Whimsy tagged me with this unique tag. I don't really like the ones where you have to tell about yourself. I mean does anybody really want to know about me anyway? I don't think so. LOL

This is from July 4th last year. This is my youngest child Katie playing her music. She plays by ear and has taught herself to play. My Katie Rocks! LOL Plays about 2 hours or more every single day. Right now she is teaching herself to play the mandolin. I bought her that for Christmas.

This one is different. It is simply a picture. Interesting to see pictures. so here are the rules.
I am to upload the FOURTH photo from my FOURTH folder on my computer and tag FOUR others.

Renae of Birch Berry Farms
Mo of Wings and Paws Primitives
Renae of Raggedy Blessings
JenW of Purty Girl Primitives

Okay back to work for me. I thought that I would have something done for ebay today and it don't look done to me. LOL So I must get the stuff done. Deadlines and a order to complete. Blessings to all.

THE ARTIST

Now that I made Everyone cry and really didn't mean to. Maybe I can make you snicker*? Just look at that stupid hat! That makes me laugh.
I have three wonderful children. Each one unique in their own special way. Each one has special talents and I am most proud of them as all us Mom's are.
I would like to tell you a little about the "HAM" in the family. That would be goofy, lovable, Tyler. Our Middle son. He is the ARTIST or one of two children that carry the artist gene. LOL
Tyler has held a pencil since he was just about three years old. A very busy little boy. Always into something and never sat still for long until you gave him paper and crayon. He has never stopped and draws about 2 hours every single day.
This artwork you see here is one of his creations. I have his permission to share it with you.

Just look at all the details. This is a character drawing of a dwarf that looks like his brother in the face. LOL It is funny because Jake is quite a bit taller then this. Several inches taller then Tyler.
When talking to Ty I thought that this took hours and Ty tells me that it took about a hour to draw this. WOW! I wish I could draw but I can not. The people in my family that can are my Hubby, my Mom, my MIL and my Brother. My Father I am told could as well. NO fair that I can not but them are the breaks.

Tyler has always been the goofey, funny, smarty pants in the family. He broke his arm, shoulder and shoulder blade in 5 places, standing on a basket ball trying to impress a girl. LOL It worked though. He made her laugh.
Just look at his Senior picture. Yep, this went into his annual. OMG is what my Mother said. But this is Tyler. No one will ever forget that picture.

So this is just another peek into my life and those around me. This is my giggle maker. Alot like his Dad, Mr.Peabody and a bit like me- poor baby. LOL I will share more about the rest of the pod later.
Have a wonderful day and share the crayons will ya?
Hugs,Pea

THE WIND BENEATH MY WINGS

People have often asked or wondered who I am referring to when I speak about the" Wind beneath my wings"?

Sue was her name and she was my best friend and chosen sister. Her family became mine, mine hers. Sue and I crafted together for many years. We created many gifts for family and things for local sales. We were two peas in a pod. Like most best friends it was her always urging me to give this business a go. I would say" No, I make a little but not enough to call it a business". Sue was Irish/ Italian and well if ya know that combo then you also know the word NO is not a option. Still I kept putting it off. A thousand excuses to why. A new puppy and baby. Three kids now, no time etc. All good excuses in my eyes, but Sue kept pushing me.

Sue was diagnosed with colon/cervical cancer at the age of 25 and was told that she has 3 to 6 months to live. She passed away 3 years later at age 28. Her last words to me, was for me to promise her that I would be published and to start my business. To never give up as she would always be there watching me. Not to use the scissors to cut wire. LOL She used to sharpen my scissors for me. To go and be happy.

Her passing left a whole in my heart so large that I thought it would never heal. When I lost her I lost part of me. I couldn't even create for many months. Time does heal all wounds. Even the bigger ones.

Sue knew that I loved art and what I did with a bit of cloth brought me and others joy. She would have loved my new business name and I am sure she giggles at some of the characters that come from that cloth. Not a single creation leaves the studio for it's new home without my mark. A little swirl under my name. Something that Sue did often when writing.

So this is my Angel. The driving force that got me started and that promise I hold to this day. I did everything she asked of me. Even when I didn't want to. How can you say no to the Wind beneath your wings?

So if your best friend is telling you something. Listen. It could change your life.

Have a wonderful week and Thank you for being a part of my journey.

Pretty Pin Keep

I just got this beauty done a little while ago and had to share with you all. It is a wool pin keep made from a Sassafras Hill Primitives pattern. I even stuffed it with wool. Weighted a little bit and used lots of vintage trims and old lace. It also has a hat pin made with glass beads. Very girlie and Shabby looking. But a bit fun too. Certainly useful and pretty. Scissors are not included. Those are my favorite pair.

She will be going on the A Time for Primitives website on the 1st. I have a few more items to get done for that including another bird pin keep. I have one more to do.
So back to work for me. I hope to share a few more things with you tomorrow.
Have a great day and stay warm. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr it is cold out there.

WHAT A WONDERFUL BLESSING FRIENDS ARE

I have always thought that I was blessed with good friends and family. I love people and so I try hard to treat everyone well.
I have made many friends here in the World Wide Web that I feel will be friends for life. I also have the most wonderful customers that a person could ask for.
One customer arranged with several of my friends to surprise me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Red Tulips and Dutch Iris's. Two of my favorite flowers.
I had to go and get my new Drivers License with the terrible picture, and came home to this big box on the porch. OMG is all I could say. I have the best friends. How very special I felt in this Big Old World.
Tears of joy flowed down my cheeks and my nose looked like I might be leading Santa's sleigh as I read the card attached.

Dear Pea,
We thought we'd get together and send you a little something to tell you how special you are and that we are happy that you were born this day.
Go out there and enjoy your day! Happy birthday Pea!!
- Hugs and smiles from your friends, Alba and Arnold, Pam Gracia( Soft in the Head), Tonya (Back Porch Pickins), Linda Greene( Meadowbrook Cabin Primitives) and Annie(Allegheny Annies-glitter your world)

What a joy to know that these wonderful Artisans think of me as a friend. I am honored and privileged to know them. More thankful for their generous gift than words could express.

When the Postman arrived yesterday with 2 packages, I thought what could this be? I received all my orders. A sweet little Valentines box arrived from my friend Alba. What a giving, caring friend she is. Thinking of me again. Just look at the wonderful goodies she made for me. Time and love went into that box.

Then last week when so much was going on with Mom, I felt the need for a angel. A angel was sent from the dear Kimmie of Prims by Kim . A wonderful gift for my Birthday. She now hangs in my studio and what a adorable painting she is. Kimmy has the finest crackle. Just darling. Thank you Kimmy and Alba for making my day so very special. Everyone made me feel special with birthday wishes. Thank you ALL!
Loves ya,Pea

LOl but it is a good lap. LOL Saturday with Dh and DD. They are cooking me dinner and doing the dishes. yeee haw! On Monday I get to see the youngest son, but I think he is gonna try and surprise me tomorrow... tee hee I am smarter then him and he can't sneak up on me.LOL poor baby.

Good News

Well me Mom is home now. They said that she just strained herself something terrible and it stressed out her heart. Over DOING it which what I told HER! but she won't listen to ME! LOL
Talked to a few good friends today and my best friend called. I feel much better now that I got it all out. Thank you! Just being so far away.
Changed my blog color twice and still not happy with it. Not one there that is perfect, well there is but it is Christmas. LOL so gotta hope they do some more designs soon.
Thank you all for your comments and prayers. Appreciated. Momma is resting and taking it easy for a few days.

Oh Boy!

I am reeling right now. Don't know if any of this will make sense as I am thinking at super sonic speed. I know my hands can't keep up.
Got a call this evening from my Mom's neighbor. She was taken to the hospital by a friend. Crying, migraine, chest pain, trouble breathing, arm aching and jaw as well. They are keeping her for a few days to run test. Talked to her and she sounds scared, helpless and out of control- WELL that makes TWO of us! LOL
She called a bit ago as I had talked to the nurse but he didn't know anything as had just came on shift,-figures. I wanted to know my usual ban of questions( my Dad and nephew have heart issues) so I know more then the average bear.
They had her call after the Doctor came in and all blood tests are normal. SO they are gonna do more tomorrow. A chemical stress test to be exact. It doesn't appear to be a heart attack. So that is good news. The doctor that took care of my daddy all those years, it is his son taking care of Momma. So that was very nice to hear as he is like family. I know she is in very good hands.
I hate being so very far away. I knew she was doing too much the last few weeks and I was right. Stubborn redhead. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Well have a good night everyone. I am gonna go get some rest. I am worn out emotionally and physically. A hot shower and bed for me.
hugs,Pea

My Sanctuary, My studio

I am almost afraid to go in there now and make a mess but, I did. I cleaned it up right away though. grin. I just couldn't leave it a mess. It was fun and I just played a bit. I had to go to bed and crash. Just so tired. Too many late nights and not enough sleep.

When you walk to the door you will see three of my favorite dollies. Kitty by Karmen Troyer of Crows in the Holler. My Miss Sophia dolly by Tonya from Back Porch Pickins and the give away dolly I won by Miss Sylvia Anderson. The Sweet Pea sign is from a local artist.

Not to mention the shelves I need to paint so put my dollies on. smirk*

This little star was a gift from my friend Lex of North Star Primitives. It smells wonderful.

These stacking units came from Michaels and you can use Michaels coupon from online or a Joann's to get them. I got two at a time on sale for about 40 bucks. They are wonderful and plan on getting at least two more.
On top you will see my Ready Teddy and Go piece. cracks me up.A mad carrot and beside it the heart says" Bless your dear Heart" made from a girlfriend. Along with that is cupid's charm From Syliva Anderson.

In this picture you see the old sewing machine and the work table. A gift from my best friends step Mom. That thing has seen some years and damage. LOL The basket is where I keep it all handy. I don't like to move around much if I don't have to. LOL

This is my studio baby. This is Miss Boostie and she is looking at that box, like she just cleaned up the joint and she is bringing in more crap. LOL

T.V., DVD and the box for cable. Work table for cutting fabric and painting. You see my most used paints/glues in a pepsi crate for easy access. I love that. great idea from dear old Mom the queen of being organized.

A free basket to keep floral foam in for things while they dry and the pepsi crate.

Behind my chair is this shelf. I love this piece. Painted by a Local artist. It has my collection of pinkeeps, the painted box from Mindy of Pine Hollow Primitives, my Polka dot Pixie snowman a Christmas gift from a dear friend as well as the pinkeep from The daily Pincushion, and a wee snowman I won from Dawn of the Feathered Nest. There is a picture of my hubby there too which is a rare piece since he hates his photo taken. The triangle in the back ground my late Father made in High school.

My chalk board with uplifting thoughts and bulliton board with the sweetest picture of my folks I have ever seen. I had to put it there. Just felt right. Now I hope to be filling the bulliton board with ideas soon.

The two fabric cabinets, sewing drawers with handy items and in the middle books and stitchery patterns. Storage on top in cheap 1.00 photo boxes.

Happy thoughs sign from a local artist. Thank you Heather.

Last but not least is Mrs. Black, the Old Crow herself. From Pam of Soft in the Head. She is my studio Mascot. She sits high on the sterio dancing to the music and making sure I am doing it right. LOL

So there you have it. Nothing fancy just a bit of fun. Now I have to get busy. Clean room or not.
Have the most wonderful day and I would love to see where you all create. Any ideas on how to make it better, I welcome them.
Hugs,Pea

A little encouragement goes a long way.

Well the rat hole is now clean and lovely again. Well humble at it is, it mine. Proud of it even if it isn't fancy but it is a work room for crying out loud. LOL It is soooo functional now. Thank goodness. I didn't get to paint or make new curtains for it but hey that will come in two years when I do this again. LOL

My room being clean has calmed me and also risen a new sense of self awareness. Who am I ? What do I really want? I want to create art, I want to learn to paint and want to improve my current skills. I want a style of my own, unique to me that just makes ya go ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, I love that! I want to teach, try new crafts and just discover myself/ art/ learning all over again.
My biggest problem is my additude about myself and my art. My family isn't always supportive in the verbal sense cause they don't get it. I don't hate them for it is just the way it is. Thank God I have some very good friends that do get it and they encourage me. I am not stating this for attention, I just feel that maybe some of you can relate.
I am very critical, over think things, and procrastinate getting things produced. I think I have great ideas but getting them to a finished product is the difficult part. I also always have something to throw a kink in my works and then I am down for the count so to speak.

So with that being said, I am going to TRY harder then EVER to turn over a new leaf. I am going to concentrate on the things I can do, learn, being possitive and keep going.
When cleaning my room I rediscovered my chalk board. Normally I write my deadlines on it. This time I decided to try something different. I wrote possitive thoughts on there instead. If I see that everyday for 21 days it will make a change. They say it takes 21 days to change a habit.
I thought I would share it. Maybe just maybe someone can relate and this will help them as well. I know I am basically rambling but ya never know when what comes out of your mouth( thoughts) can have a impact on someone's life. So this is my attempt to reach others just like me. If there is such a thing? LOL

I will finish loading up my pictures of my room later. Oh I can't wait to share that with you. I pulled some of the art I have from artists from ebay and wonderful gifts, so lots to peek at.
Have the most wonderful day and remember ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING>>>
Blessings,Pea

Just a bit further

I am still working on the studio and I must say that it was worse then I had thought but it is coming along. Going through all the tubs and having stuff in too many places still has some tweaking and fine tuning to do but it will come. I have to break down and buy a few more tubbies. The small kind but deeper cause I have a lot of little things for dollies and they need to be stored for each holiday. This is the wool cabinet. It holds the wools and Sherpa for bears and what nots.

See my drawers? I collect these old singer drawers for holding goodies. These hold my trims and one holds the rubber stamps that I use for my tags. I keep looking for more but it seems lots of folks got the idea that these are wonderful. I have three more but they are all too big to fit there. I even have a little nester( bird) hanging out in there in the wool cabinet. She is still homeless so she is nesting in my box till she finds a new home. It is fun to open the cabinet and see her waiting there for my pins.

Now this is one side of the closet. Just tubbies of more Stuff. The other side has the big, huge tubbies for inventory and a box of christmas stuff. labels are my new favorite thing. I had most of them labeled but now all of them are. Should make creating hopefully a bit faster. Ha ha!

Last but not least is something that I had made. Another birdie pinkeep. I love the softness of this one. It has flown safely to it's new owner. I am so very happy it will have such a nice home. I will have another one up for sale in a few days. They are wool inside and out so perfect for your pins. Just something fun.

Have a lovely day and I hope to show you all the finished pics of the studio tomorrow.
Blessings,Pea

Progress

I have been trying to clean my studio and it have been one thing after another. Yesterday was a blur with a migrain and today is a tiny bit better but not letting go like I would like. Just the change in weather sets them off. Some days I can't move or see and others are simply where I am sick on the couch and feel like I had a hit and run with a tree. LOL the tree won.

So here is my cotton fabrics cabinet. I got it all cleaned out and it looks so nice. Sold some fabric and others were donated but it is clean. I will show you more as I get there. Have a lonnnnnnnnnng ways to go. I am working on the closet now. I had a bunch of stuff( giggle). How do we get soo much stuff? How did I get it all in that little tiny room and my gosh no wonder I would never find what I am looking for. Grab and stash don't work really. LOL so I am getting my room re- organized, labeled and cleaned. Then maybe my brain/body can create once again.

Have a good day.

Blessings,Pea

Big Birdy Pinkeep

I did manage to get this done. Been on the back burner since oh August and just now got it finished. I do love the old way it turned out and enjoyed making it a great deal. It is made from hand dyed wool, stuffed with wool. So it really is 100% wool inside and out. The pins will stay sharp and I did up the hat pin as well. It has some weighting material too. I will have a few more( in different colors) in the weeks to come available for new homes.

What a exciting I guess you could say day! Not in a good way exciting but all turned out in the end. Thought DD had a kidney infection. She couldn't hardly move poor thing. Wouldn't let me look at her back but said it hurt deep inside not just the muscle. So took her in the morning and her spine was all out of wack. The Doc rolled her around and there she was all better. LOL sound silly but you should have heard the sounds. OMG I hate that sounds of bones popping.

Then DH has a heart issue history. So he tells me his left arm and fingers tingle. I am thinking oh no you don't not again. He was in the hospital last year several times and scared me half to death.

Said he didn't feel good and color is off- MEN! So I went to call and make the appointment and they get the nurse on the phone, so then she makes the e.r. appointment. He goes and well girls he has carpal tunnel of the elbow. LOL So I am relieved but at the same time feel foolish for worrying. what is a mom to do?

So I think that I will sleep good tonight. LOL

Okay have to find some grub cause my tummy is calling my name...

Have a wonderful evening,Pea

A CHANGE, SALE and RETIREMENT of PATTERNS

Change can sometimes be difficult and other times, seems easy. In this case for me the change is bittersweet. I am letting go of my past by changing my business name and moving into what I feel will be exciting times for me. Letting go is the hardest part as there are so many promises and memories attached to the name Pea Picker's Primitives. My first adventure, my first dollar as a doll maker, being published, raising my kids, local shows, all happened under that name. There is a lot of history in that name for me. I hope to really push myself to the limits creatively with my new name and am very excited to get started.
So with a change in name comes many other little projects on the books. The journal is getting full already and we have only just begun.
First off I am having a E-PATTERN SALE. BUY ONE GET ONE FREE! OF EQUAL OR LESSER VALUE. LIMITED TIME ONLY.. use my pattern mart link to choose and email me at phillanes@yahoo.com with payment and choice of patterns. THANKS SO MUCH!

I will be retiring many of my patterns as well. So If you WANT THEM get them now before they are no longer available. They will not be back.

Not to worry I will have a few new patterns under the new name but that will depend on what I come up with. LOL I am still snowed in so that should be easy.

I want to take this time to tell each of you THANK YOU! For sticking with me, through these changes and in years past. It is nice to know I have friends around me cheering me on to the next wish on the wings of my angel.

P.

How very nice!

Heidi of Crabby Gabby had purchased my Except a Mouse pattern from me earlier this year and mentioned she was excited to give it a try.

She emailed me a few days ago with the pictures from the completed piece, and told me she really liked the pattern. Such nice things she had to say I was blushing. Then I saw her pics and OMG she did such a adorable, wonderful job that I had to show you all. I am actually embarrassed to show you the shot from the original being it has been so long and I have grown so much as a doll maker but I want you to appreciate the special "touch" that Heidi has placed on this creation. So with a gulp and a grin I show you mine, then with Pride and glee I show you Heidi's. Thank you Heidi for sharing with me. LOVE IT!

Hugs,Pea

Can you say Christmas OVERLOAD?

Well I have ALWAYS been a Christmas nut. But My GOSH I didn't know that I had gone completely nuts over the last 10 yrs. Up until this evening I had 2 LARGE Dishpack boxes ya know the giant ones? And 7 TUBBIES!!!
Good Night Nurse that is A LOT of CHRISTMAS stuff!!
Soo for two days I have been sorting, unwrapping and re-wrapping all this stuff. I am so very proud of myself at the moment because, I am down to two LARGE dish pack boxes since they are so heavy and stack nice. And two Tubbies not including the nativity set. That is a third tubby. I went through everything with a open heart. One just can't keep everything. I have to get the clutter out of here. Michael and I are talking that we might want to move in a few years, closer to town. The clutter has taken over my life and I simply have too much stuff. I want a nice neat house with less stuff. So out the door it goes. Have all the rooms to go through but one at a time.
Now the fun really begins. Putting all the stuff for the eldest in a tubby. DD stuff in a small box cause she only wants a tiny tree and then packing all the other stuff off to goodwill. After the snow clears that is . Right now it is just pure snot. Slippery stuff out there now. Slush on top of solid packed ice. ACK!

MERRY CHRISTMAS SWAP TO ME

Miss Janey from Look in the Nook was my swap partner in the ornament exchange for my WSOAPP group. Oh what a wonderful swap partner she is. Look at ALL MY LOOT!!!

OOOOPS! SCAREY!

Well I am stubborn as the day is long. I get a idea in my head and there is no changing my mind.
we live on a big hill and it has a lovely sharp curve but not too sharp. I decided the morning that I needed and wanted to go to the p.office. I have 4 wheel drive yeh I can do this! HA! DUMB IDEA! I ended with my pretty blue butt in the ditch. I mean blue butt as the back end of my car. OMG On that lovely curve of the hill. My poor hubby had worked 11 hours in this mess, off to rest and then this. Snow up to the ying yang and then to try and get my blue butt out of the ditch. Let us just say that he wasn't happy with me today. Sooo no trip and well I am not going out till the ice is melted and the hill is clear. Sooo if you are waiting for goodies you will have to wait a bit longer. I do hope you will forgive me my friends. Blame the weather cause it is her fault. Oh it gets better. Another storm tomorrow with more snow. Yeh, just what I wanted. Fish sticks and fries for Christmas dinner and no kids. This Christmas being the first without my folks and since my Dad passed away last month. I am trying to enjoy the spirit of the Season but not doing so well.
Hope things are better on your end.

The Grand prize winner will receive the Grand prize based on suggested New name for Pea Picker's Primitives that is chosen by Me.

There will also be other prizes given as a drawing. For the Give away drawing all you have to do is Post a suggested name. Hello there my friends,
You know they say that one's worth is measured by their friends. I must tell you that I must be worth alot cause I have the best of friends. They are all priceless gems in my life and so very greatful to know them, chat with them and have them call me a friend.

My name means "friend of Mankind" and has been a personal challenge to live up to the name. I know like we all do from time to time, I have failed some and had great success with others.

You know who your friends are when life throws you a curve ball the size of Texas and this year for my family has had their share of them.

I was honored by two sweet ladies with a award. I have many friends that I can call anytime for a ear, hug or witch session. You all know who you are and I am forever greatful for your friendship, kindness and holding my hand when it needs it*Smirk*.

~OVER STOCK SUPPLY SALE~

My friends, I have more then 10 lbs of glitter. I have 2 of every color. 99% of it glass glitter. So with that being said, I decided I needed to down size and sell them for what I purchased them for. I am NOT trying to make a gain, just selling it for what I paid for it.
So I have 5 colors here available. All are labeled fine grade glass glitter. 1 (med) red color, 1 Christmas green, 1 gold, 1 black and white pearl.
The three bottles are marked 2 oz but actually weigh 2.4 EACH. The black is 3 ounces and the pearl is 1.4 oz for a grand total of 11.4 ounces. The price for the whole set is 19.00 plus 4.80 priority shipping unless you want parcel which I can do that too.
I have not used any out of these bottles just way too much glitter around here. LOL
If you are interested just contact me at phillanes@yahoo.com I can invoice you through paypal. Thanks so much and have a great day.

MY HEROES

You all know that my Eldest son came home from overseas. I am thrilled and overjoyed. I thought I would share my clan with you. Well minus my DD.

Jake( eldest) is on the right, Tyler( youngest son of two) on the left and Michael(hubby) is center.

Jacob wanted to see who looked most like Dear Old DAD! LOL So he said he was growing a mustache. Hubby has always had one. Ty wears a full beard and he shaved it all off for Jake- that is brotherly love. LOL and Michael wears a beard now that he is no longer in Military but I prefer just the mustache.. How he was when I met him. LOL

So these are my heroes. Thought you would like to see. Thank you all for your support of our military. Please send a post card to those far from home this year. Up at the far top of my side bar on the right. It is free!

Have a wonderful day.

Ginger Sugar and spice!

I have been making dolls and doing this kind of work for over 25 yrs. I have made a million dolls and have learned and changed my style a hundred and 20 times. I have made alot of dolls that I like and once in a while I make a doll I love. This doll is by far my favorite for the whole year. Which is so strange if you knew me. I love girly but am not girly. I like pink and white but don't decorate with it. So out of my norm and yet it is that face that captured my heart. She was a special order for a dear customer and I know when she sees her upclose and personal she will love her as much as I do.

The pictures make her look a bit dark but she is a cinnamon brown color like real gingerbread. I used a cookie to match the color.

Each part of her dress was planned very carefully. I thought of ginger bread houses as I made her. The laces are to look like frosting and the sugar tinsil trim was made to look like sugar.

I also made her little wool shoes and a tiny bucket for her candy. Just so durn sweet. Now I am getting in a mood for the Christmas season.

I do hope that you all have a Happy and safe Thanksgiving with your family. I will be enjoying time with family and then celebrate again on Friday when My Jake returns. I think I can suffer through turkey and pumpkin pie twice. LOL YUMM YUMM.

Blessings to you and yours,Pea

Kinda a sad day

Today was the services for My Husband's Uncle Alton. It was a lovely service and was very emotional for me since I had no service for my Dad. He didn't want any services, nothing. So it was a bit of closure for me for both of them. They were very much alike. Loved to hunt, fish, smart as can be and worked very hard all their lives. They would have liked each other very much. Al was a tease. He would get me everytime and it takes alot to make me blush. He knew just how to do that and never figured out how he knew. Loved that onery old man to bits. Hope he knew that.

Well I got a bit of good news today. I am going to the open house I wanted to. It had been cancelled and now it is on again. I am thrilled but back to work for me. Have to have a few new goodies.
Work on my web stuff it is calling me tonight. Best get crackin. OMG time just gets away from me.
Happy NOTE! three more days and My Jake will return home from Overseas! YEH!!! I can NOT wait till I can hug that boy of mine. It has been such a long time. I hope I get to keep him for awhile.
have a wonderful week.
Blessings,Pea

Ebay Listing

Well my friends I am back to work. It is hard but life must go on. I spent the better part of the day writting a pattern. Yes I am working on them and dollies as well. Yesterday I cleaned up the studio just a bit. Still have alot to do in there but it is coming along. I treated myself ( coupon purchase) with a few organizers because I used my 50 % off joann's coupon at Michaels. Tee hee. In case you didn't know they did that. They do and vise versa.

I put this wonderful little vignette on eBay as a BIN with free shipping. I do hope you will take a peek.

Pfatt marketplace

I know you all are probably thinking WHAT? she updated this month with her dad just passing?

Yes I did. My dad was the type of man that said; Life must go on. He wouldn't want me to wallow in self pity or be depressed for long. I forced myself to pick up what little of me there was left and get to work. My Dad was one of the hardest working people I ever met and I always wanted to be just like him.

Oh trust me, I am not over this, through this or okay with this pain in anyway shape or form. I am just dealing with it. If that makes any sense at all.

I so appreciate everyones thoughts, prayers, cards, flowers, letters and emails of support. We knew this was coming but it still doesn't make it any less painful when it does. I still cry everyday and probably will for the rest of my life. He was simply put my Hero and that doesn't ever die. He saved me from myself most days but saved me just the same.

So go hug the ones you love, chat about the weather for tomorrow it may all change.

remember pfatt marketplace updates tonight at midnight or a wee bit sooner.:)

Can you say S*P*O*I*L*E*D*?

Okay I admit it I must be spoiled and reallllllllllllllly spoiled to have my customer send me not one gift but two this week. I got my Ready Teddy Go and Company and I adore that but I guess it wasn't enough for my friend Alba. Just look at the sweet card and packaging. How very nice. It was wrapped in orange tissue and a gingham bow as well, but I ripped through that to get to my prize. LOL

She decided that I needed a new pinkeep and emery too. It came from The Daily Pinkeep on Etsy Just look at this sweet wool pumpkin and emery.. Isn't that darling. I am afraid to use it even though to not to would be a dishonor.
Her stitches are so tiny and just as close to perfect as one can get being handmade. Real even and tiny stitches at that. The gal that made it really has her nitch with needle and thread. A emery leaf too, how cool is that. Not many of us have them any more and I didn't have one with all the sewing I do. Nuts I know.

so Alba and Arnold. Thank you again. Everyone that receives a surprise from YOU IS spoiled that is for sure. Now off to get something done. Gonna be using my pinkeep today.:)

JOY~ JOY~ OH JOY~

OMG my friends. I could just PEA- tee hee my pants.... LOL
Yesterday the post man delivered a package. A SUPRISE package. Ya see I am blessed with a customer that has become my friend. She is very good to her friends and well she BOUGHT me a present! Can you believe that? OMG, so anyway she went to a show and this little crabby carrot made her think of me... Mmmmmmmmmmmmm I do have carrot orange red hair and make shakers. Is she trying to tell me something? LOL If she is I am playing dumb! LOL

This clay sculpture is from Terri, she sent it herself. How cool is that and there was a special note from my friends.

Pea,
A special gift to you from Alba and Arnold.
Have a spooky Halloween.

Would you just look at that bitty little shaker. OMg I love this piece but that shaker-( I make so many of them) that little shaker cracks me up! Tickles my fancy. I love this piece but that shaker makes it something extra special.

I have to admit I have been like so many of you lately down in the dumps due to ebay and such. I guess my friends knew this would bring me joy, a giggle and love. Just what the doctor ordered my friends. Thank you so much. It cracks me up and reminds me not to be a crabby carrot any more. LOL

I spent the whole day running around errands and yesterday before my sweet surprise arrived I was a very crabby carrot. LOL My DH was playing with the dogs and broke my tart burner again. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I had this cool stoneware one that looks like my german pottery. A birthday gift from a friend- Yeppers I have the best friends. Anyhoo Mike had broke the top on it. I liked this one cause I can place it on the wood stove and not have to plug it in or use a candle. it heats up from the fire. Well it took me months to find a top that would fit in it and the color. I did, took it out a hour before he broke it. MEN! Why is it always my stuff that gets broke? Never the kids or his. I was so durn mad that I threw a tubby across the room. I don't ususally do that but I knew it would make me feel better. I was thinking about throwing dh but he is a bit heavy for me.

So now to hunt down another stoneware tart burner. You see if it isn't stoneware it could crack under the heat of the wood stove. If ya see one let me know. I know that they are pricey so maybe I might make Dh pay for it. LOL

Have a good one my friends. Going to bed early for church tomorrow. Another day and nothing done. UGh but I will show ya something by monday hopefully.

Christmas Magic

I worked ever so Hard on this piece. It was a labor of love and am happy with the way it turned out. I took a wonderful pattern by Soft in the Head and tweeked it just a wee bit. Gave it a pea's touch. You all know that I can't do anything just the normal way. I have to twist things. ha ha.

This will be going for sale on one of my many websites. Details to follow in a few days.

Well are supposed to get the WHITE stuff. Along with some heavy rains. So I filled the water jugs for all their many country uses. Brought in wood for the wood stove and kindling. Straightened my cluttered house- yuck more to do but hey it is a start ;0

The joys of being a mom in charge of the house.

But I get to play hookie from all the normal things tomorrow. YIPPEEEEEEEEEE I am sneaking off with two friends with bumper shoot in hand and we are going to a big craft fair and hitting all the prim shops. Can't wait! I have to medicate myself to sleep tonight I am so excited tee hee but it will be worth it tomorrow. I will show you all my goodies in a few days.

Have a wonderful weekend my friend.

The Kindness Of Others!

I consider myself a blessed person with the friends I have and have had in my life. I am always amazed by the kindess that others show me. I have met many wonderful folks here in the land of www but one I must honor today is none other then Victoria Lynn of Kentucky Primitives.

Last week I went to Victoria's site and saw that she had this wonderful olde time cotton batting listed on her site.

Long story short I was having internet/p.c. issues and I couldn't order it. So I emailed her and asked to order some. She requested my addy and shipped it off. I waited for the invoice to come and sent her a note. She said nope- it is on me along with many glowing words of kindness and well it gave me a big head for a minute.!!!!

Then her sweet package arrived with more glowing words of kindness. Now I do NOT know what I have ever done to deserve such sweet words/kindness but I had tears in my eyes when I read her note.

So from the bottom of my heart Victoria thank you!

She has added many wonderful goodies and patterns to her site. I am making her sheep for my show and can't wait to do them. so off to work I go my friends.

Blessings ,Pea

TEACHERS PET

SOLD
Little Orville is such a stinker for teasing Ms. Red Embacker with that Candy corn. Which just happens to be her favorite candy in the whole wide world. I don't know, do you think he is gonna get away with it? He is after all the teachers Pet!

This is one of those designs that makes me giggle. I was on the phone with a friend and I kept cracking up as I was working on. I recall she called me a big goof! LOL After this week a giggle was nice for a change.
INFACT!!! I must credit Tonya of Back Porch Pickins for the candy/corn/teasing part of this design. I had the design almost done with the mouse/title- but was kinda stuck on the what "else" part. She came in and saved my day. LOL

This piece will be listed for sale Soon! Keep watching for details.

Till then may the Lord bless you and keep you.

Time

Hands of Time they matter not.

When one is deeply in thy thoughts.

Dawn turns Dusk and then again.

Time is foe and yet a friend.

By P.E. Saathoff Sept 26, 2008 In loving memory of My Aunt Valene Duffy

Time was not a friend to me today as I found out my Dear Aunt Val passed away. She lived a good long life and passed peacefully and I should be happy at that. But somehow it is more bitter then sweet at this moment. It is the ones who are left with the memories and sorrow that face yet another day either joyfully or bitterly that are on my mind.

I will try and sleep tonight and let tomorrow bring sun or rain. But either way it will be decided for me before I rise.

Till then my sweets sleep well.
