Champagne tastes on a Beer Pocketbook~ TREASURE HUNT~GIVE AWAY!

Hello Friends,
I am sure that a few of you can relate to this title. I know sometimes my pocketbook has only enough funds for water. which is free LOL Mom has always told me that fits me to a T, well I think that is one thing I inherited from her. LOL
I can be very thrifty. I am cheap on most things. Somethings I buy middle ground.
When it came to my studio I knew I had to be cheap. But that doesn't mean it has to look cheap now does it? You can goodies that are very reasonable. Lots of things can be remade and that is helps spruce them up. Giving new life to something that would have been replaced, thrown out or given away helps save money and Mother Nature.

I purchased a print from a artist I have admired for sometime now. I love the prints option as I can't get a original. Just not in my budget.:(
I saw Danita's prints after her release on PFATT on her ETSY SHOPPE and couldn't help myself. I had to have this print. It made me smile. Remembering days when just watching grass grow was all I had to do that day. Yes, on Sundays that is all I had to do as a kid. SPOILED I KNOW!
I purchased the frame from Goodwill and it needed some love let me tell ya!LOL that thing was ugllly! The mat was icky yellow tan and the framed was beat up pretty bad. I got it for $3.00 though. Brought it home painted the mat white and spray paint and there you go. Cheap, easy and I LOVE IT NOW.
SOOO YOUR CHALLENGE is go to Danita's etsy shoppe and tell me what print is your favorite and why? ****I am GiVING AWAY one of her prints to ONE LUCKY WINNER!!!!!**. It will be purchased and sent directly to you. She does sign these prints.
WhY? am I doing this? Well I was supposed to have a give away in June. Life happened and got in my creative way. I am just now creating but not fast enough. Besides I know that some of you are like me, love art and simply not in your budget. I hope that you will frame it and show it to me. That would make me smile.
So the hunt is on. Have fun and can't wait to see all the pretties and hear why it is your favorite.
Happy treasure hunting.
hugs,Pea

Pea,

What a wonderful giveaway ! I can't wait to see photos of your revamped work space !

Danita's art is fabulous ! Every print has something to say or that you can relate to. Of course, I can relate to the Steamstress one ! That is one of my favorites.

But I would say Please Don't Go is my heart's desire.. The girl in the red swimsuit holding onto the boat while she is wading in the ocean. One of my favorite colors are red and the color of the ocean and the background match my powder room where I have it decorated nautical.

I love the ocean, the sound of the waves and wading in them, searching for seashells, smelling the salt air, watching the boats and ships sailing by, the sunrise on the ocean, and eating seafood.

Looking at this print reminds me of everything I love about the ocean and not wanting to leave to come home..

Hugs and a happy week !

Hey, I have seen her work before but do ya have a link to it?? I'm with Linda though, they are all great. So I try to be thrifty queen. Last year 90% of my kid's Christmas came from the thrift store. I just found a month ago an american girl doll made in 2008. She is marked the real thing in perfect condition for 2.00 so I have it stashed away for my daughter for Christmas. I figure I could sew an outfit for her and be in it 10.00 or 15.00 with shoes. No way was she ever going to get the real doll at over a hundred dollars so I'm feeling pretty special. My son last year who is 7 told me that he wanted to go birthday shopping there and he found a big pirate ship so I was in his birthday 8.00 with that and a couple of figurines. I've already got Christmas things stashed away this year for the kids that have come from the thrift store. I LOVE it!! Your frame turned out good and spray paint is my best friend when redoing things. That and mod podge. LOVE it girl!! Can't wait to see some more treasure finds and redos. It's addicting. I live at the thrift store once a week. I need to get a job there~lol

okay I found her link. I like the Dilemma picture. It's a picture of snow white. I think it would be perfect in my little girls room. I redid her room in pink and did a border on the top of her room with the Disney Princess quotes and found some chip board pictures of all the princess that goes with the border for like a dollar. It turned out cute but I think that would look darling in there. After going to Disneyland last year I'm just as bad as the kiddos loving Disney things.

Ok, Ok I will play fair teehee.
I like the seamstress because I also love to sew.
But I like Merry go round as well, because when I was a small girl I would go on my little brothers spring horse and be a girl hero saving the boys teehee. Ya I had a good imagination.

I absolutely LOVE Danita's work! She just has a way of creating personas you can't help but to fall in love with! I am really loving the Me and My Penguin print right now. The colors are just so calm and perfect. I love how I am just drawn to the image. And yet, it has a certain whimsy about it, as well. I really love it!

Great treasure Pea!! Being frugal isn't a bad thing and my mother always use to say if you can't afford something and you really want it then save until you can, you'll appreciate it more. That has kept me out of trouble financially most of my life and does make me think about what is really important to me and my family. Danita's piece spoke to you and thanks to her create prints more of us can share her wonderful creations.

Sounds like a win-win to me!!
Have a great week!
