Happy Birthday Daddy
Today would have been my Dad's 77th birthday. Hard to believe this is the second birthday since he has been gone. Seems like a life time without him. I miss him so much. Watched the weather a few times just to seem close to him. He loved the weather. No one was allowed to talk when it was on.
Worked some more in the studio. I have a lot of organizing ahead of me but liking what I have done so far. How to make it all work out best. Have to get a little spot clean so I can make a card for my God Mother this week.
Back to the studio. Only have 3 days to get it done. Tomorrow will be gone with Mom all day.

What a wonderful Christmas
What a wonderful Christmas we had. We all made out like fat rats, good food, good people. Just joy from start to finish.
My favorite gift was a camera I had asked for from hubby. This is it....
Here is a link CAMERA
It is wonderful and took the shot above which I call Pea Prints. LOL I am no pro but taking better quality pics I think. I do love it.
My second favorite thing was a frame with all three of my kids pics with their fiances with them. It is beautiful.( sorry no pics of it yet)
Today was a fun day. Katie( my only daughter 19) and I went shopping. Dropped her off at the mall for her shoe fix and I headed to Michael's for mine. Whoo hoo. Tonic scissors, a zyron, a bit of paper/sticker fun, rubber stamps, some Tim Holtz goodness and another 4 drawer cubby from Mom's cash treat. I need more storage. I think I will get a few more pieces and then should be done. I spent all my money and Katie still has some of hers. Yeah, they always spend all of yours. LOL
We met up for lunch, ran a few more errands, pharmacy for hubs meds, dog food and all the fun stuff. Then headed home. Dropped Katie off at her fiances house and headed home to put the cubby together. I can't wait to fill it, trust me I can already. LOL
So that was my day, hope you had a good one as well. Got to scoot. Thunder and lighting with our very heavy rains. I am gonna need to find boots for webbed toes here pretty soon.;)

I was goofing off
Some days are like that. I get a bit stressed out, I am sure every mom can relate. So my distressing tool is pictures. I was having fun editing these and laughing at all the combo's I came up with. I am getting the one of our dog printed for hubby for Christmas. I love the red nose. It just made the picture and Pilgrim was pretty good about posing.
The other picture is our eldest son Jake and his fiance Cat. They are adorable.
I hope to have some pics of the decor in a day or two. I have to run to town tomorrow for one more gift! I am pretty close to being done. Stocking stuffers and one more for mom. We be done.

SPOILED PEA!
TDIPT swaps are the best. We had our annual Christmas swap with a secret Santa theme. I love my new Santa( shhhhhhhhhhh don't tell Santa baby;) Dear 2 Stitchin Lynn sent me all this wonderful goodness.
I got the loot girls just feast your eyes on this...
Where oh where do I begin? OMG, did she put the biggest smile on my face and the largest beat to my heart...
That box seemed never ending.
Funny story, I had to run a few non fun errands today. I stopped by the post office hoping perhaps that I had a goody. I got my pink slip and the smiles began in hopes of the anticipation that may await me.
I got the box, looked at the name and scared the hank out of all the people there including my dear clerk, Becky. I squealed with joy! Then ran off like a kid in a candy store with a 20 dollar bill. Announcing for all to hear, Christmas came early for me this year.
Swooped into the car and hunted for something to open my prize with. I had a military can opener on my key ring. Yep, that is what I opened it with. I couldn't get it open fast enough.
The tissue, the ties, the smells were too much for me to handle. The tears started to well inside me as I knew this was going to be a joy my tender heart couldn't handle.
Each package so lovingly wrapped in white and gold. It took my breath away. The trees, candle tarts, candies, small santa box, snowman pocket with sweet annie and candy canes. Note pad, snowmen ornaments will be heavenly on my tree.
Then came the stitchery. Oh my stars. It is wonderful. I adore it. Each stitch taken to perfection. When I grow up I wanna stitch like that.. LOL
Just look at this beauty. Her little card and note matched it. How sweet is that?
Last but not least is the wonderful Santa book box. It is wonderful. Perfect for my home. I want to use it to display my G.G. Grandmother's feather tree that she raised the geese, dyed the feathers and made the tree. It is very old as it was made before my Great Grandmother's birth in early 1800's.
Tucked inside that box was a angel ornament. The tears started to flow at that point. It hit me like a ton of bricks. Joyful tears. It reminded me so much of the wind beneath my wings.
How can I thank you enough? Where does one begin? I don't how, but these simple words. Thank you so very much Lynn. You put a smile on my face and tugged at every string of my heart.
Blessings,Pea

A Treasured View
I am very lucky that my Mother's family saved so many wonderful family items. Most are small things but being poor and especially after the depression they learned to hang on to everything. I have most of it! LOL
I saw in a magazine recently where they used old aprons for the window treatment for the kitchen window. So I rushed to the old china cabinet, going through the drawers of linens and found one of Grandma King's aprons. Grabbed a few tacks and there she is. The front panel is a huge pocket. Grandma wore a apron everyday of her life. All of them had huge pockets for paper, pens, eggs, flowers and all the other things she gathered on her humble farm. She loved to write letters and cards so that would be the reason for pen and paper. She sent a card for every holiday there was. Spent a fortune on birthday cards for everyone she knew. One of my fondest memories was when I received sweet cards from her.
I think she might think I was crazy hanging this apron instead of wearing it, but I do wear one when I do dishes and work in the studio. SO I guess that is one tradition that I have kept going.
Have a wonderful week. Off to add a bit more Christmas charm to the old homestead tucked in the woods.

Happy Birthday Mom!
Today was my Mother's 75th birthday. We had a great time. I made her a meatloaf, brussel sprouts, baked tators and Lemon Chiffon cake. Yumm Yumm
I bought her a pair of grey pearl earrings to go with the necklace she has. As well as a set of dishes as she complains not enough of them and they are hard to find. I got lucky. Took her to the jewelry store and we spent 2 hrs in there. LOL they were repairing a chain.
Then we came home had dinner and played the board game "SORRY" her favorite and I hate it. She won again as always. LOL But she had a wonderful day and that is what is important.
Boy am I tired. I was in the kitchen from 11 am yesterday till 2:30 am this morning baking, cooking, dipping and I am done for the moment. I think I will go and sit and relax for awhile. How much ya wanna bet, I fall asleep within the hour? LOL
Have a wonderful week. I be cleaning tomorrow and finally put some spirit into this place.

Someone left snow in the studio!
Hello,
I had a huge amount of snow left for me. Not on the outside thank Goodness, but the inside. I still have mountains of it, but a little bit has been made into a snowman. I think he turned out adorable. Lots of charming little details in this fellow.
I have wanted to make a Americana snowman for sometime now. I decided a few days ago to stop wanting and just do it.
Named after a American Hero, Jame "Bowie". Giving a bit of love to my southern roots.
He will go up for sale on pfatt marketplace tonight at Midnight or could be a bit earlier.
PFATT MARKET PLACE
So grab a cup of hot cocoa and go a peeking. I know he would love the company and the cocoa. Brrrrrrrr baby it is cold out there.:)

It was magical
Today was a wonderful day. A honor, exciting and tearful. Every Mother looks forward to many things but seeing her daughter try on wedding dresses is one of those moments that can not be described. It was not my daughter but my future daughter in law. None the less it was a moment that I did not expect to take me away, fill me with joy and tears all at the same moment. Then again I do love this girl dearly. She is the best of us, brings out the best in my son and I know they will be happy together with out a shadow of a doubt.
We spent the day ironing out details and still have many to do. But we are getting there. This is not her dress or veil but still very pretty. I have to hunt for a blue dress. Maybe after I loose another 10 lbs I will like a blue dress or two better. LOL At least I have 9 months to work on it.

Arizona page three
This picture makes me giggle. Same little house but look at the cactus. It has eyes and one eyebrow. LOL Like some one played a prank and shaved the other off. Just what it made me think of.
This is the doggie door. There were several at each end of the house with trap doors inside for the dogs. She said most days they propped them up and let the dogs come and go as they pleased. At night they remained closed to keep the critters at bay. One dog in, one dog out to watch the herds.
In this picture you see in far left corner the lady who grew up here and behind the well is her grand daughters. The step on the well was created for her because she was so short to reach the water.
Last from the old homestead is the Indian holographs.
The lady said that a old Cherokee Indian lived across the road from the house in his tepee. He was their helping hand on the property.
So tomorrow I will edit the pics from the old rangers station and the top of south Mountain. Until then have a wonderful evening.

Back from Arizona page one
WOW! what wonderful days I had in Phoenix, AZ. I went to visit my Best friend, her son Alex and her new Beau Justin. Only gone 8 days. One whole day for travel. Didn't seem like a long enough stay.;) I could have easily stayed longer with them. So relaxing. They are wonderful hosts and made me feel very at home. A wee bit on the hot side for this easy to burn gal, but lots of sunblock came in handy.
This is my Best friend Kristeen. Isn't she a pretty thing? I just love this gal like a sister. This pic was taken on top of South Mountain. What a interesting place. I will describe more of that with pics in a day or two.
The house you see above was at the base of South Mountain in a place called Scorpion Gulch. What a pretty little place it must have been at one time. While there I over heard a woman chatting with 2 young girls about the house's history. Come to find out it belonged to her Grandparents and she lived there and took care of them until they passed when she was a young adult. Her grandfather had built the home stone by stone and it was a very rich home for the area back then. She told us many stories in a short time about the home and the rooms. Very interesting to hear this. There was still the feeling of love and peace in that run down old house. You could feel it. Have you ever felt that in a old home when you visited?
Well my home is in need oof some TLC yet. Have the laundry caught up. 3 mountains when I returned but the place was pretty clean. I was surprised. Happy to say the least.
Now to get the rusty gears oiled and working again. Oh my brain is still mush from vacation. Gotta find the jumper cables. LOL
Have a good one.

Progress...
Oh the studio is coming along in between coats of paint drying and sanding a few things. I take a bit of time and I put up some pretties for me to enjoy.
Another artist's work I admire framed here. Karen from Lovella Ranch That little raven haired beauty reminds me of my Sue. The redhead reminds me of my Mom when she was younger. Just something about these prints that I had to have. Very reasonable as well. They are printed on bible pages. Framed from Wally world with the mattes were a steal at 6 bucks each.
The sign was made from a gal I met at a show and loved her signs. I don't do the wood stuff so had to have it.
Do you see the pretty blue wall?- the first picture is the correct color. Oh I love that color. Called River's edge. It is very muted and soothing. Inspiring as well. I just have the one wall painted that color. The rest of the walls are creamy like buttermilk. I still have furniture to finish, a chair to completely recover and a bit more straightening and moving things about. It is coming together. In between sewing dollies that is. LOL
Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
That is a sigh of relief. Today is Sunday and I get to relax for about 2 minutes before the work begins again.
This dolly almost kicked my butt! LOL I have never done a doll that took so long or was so difficult as this one. In the end the redhead came out and so did the doll.:)
Took every last minute I had but I did finish on time, by my skin of my teeth. It is a Pea's twist on a old stand by the Topsy Turvy doll. I do like the way they turned out.
As to which one I like better, I don't know? Just happy they found a new home.
I have another busy week ahead of me. The studio is a mess so I have to go clean that up and start again.
Here is another picture from the studio.
Here you will see a few angels from Kimmie of Prims by Kim
I bought these cuties last year for the studio and love their new home. I adore them, so sweet. I got the clock at Ross for 9 bucks. I like it cause it has a timer on it. Comes in handy when I have something in the oven or to keep me pushing through.
Time is a wasting and I have to get to work so best get to it.
Have a wonderful Sunday.

Champagne tastes on a Beer Pocketbook~ TREASURE HUNT~GIVE AWAY!
Hello Friends,
I am sure that a few of you can relate to this title. I know sometimes my pocketbook has only enough funds for water. which is free LOL Mom has always told me that fits me to a T, well I think that is one thing I inherited from her. LOL
I can be very thrifty. I am cheap on most things. Somethings I buy middle ground.
When it came to my studio I knew I had to be cheap. But that doesn't mean it has to look cheap now does it? You can goodies that are very reasonable. Lots of things can be remade and that is helps spruce them up. Giving new life to something that would have been replaced, thrown out or given away helps save money and Mother Nature.
I purchased a print from a artist I have admired for sometime now. I love the prints option as I can't get a original. Just not in my budget.:(
I saw Danita's prints after her release on PFATT on her ETSY SHOPPE and couldn't help myself. I had to have this print. It made me smile. Remembering days when just watching grass grow was all I had to do that day. Yes, on Sundays that is all I had to do as a kid. SPOILED I KNOW!
I purchased the frame from Goodwill and it needed some love let me tell ya!LOL that thing was ugllly! The mat was icky yellow tan and the framed was beat up pretty bad. I got it for $3.00 though. Brought it home painted the mat white and spray paint and there you go. Cheap, easy and I LOVE IT NOW.
SOOO YOUR CHALLENGE is go to Danita's etsy shoppe and tell me what print is your favorite and why? ****I am GiVING AWAY one of her prints to ONE LUCKY WINNER!!!!!**. It will be purchased and sent directly to you. She does sign these prints.
WhY? am I doing this? Well I was supposed to have a give away in June. Life happened and got in my creative way. I am just now creating but not fast enough. Besides I know that some of you are like me, love art and simply not in your budget. I hope that you will frame it and show it to me. That would make me smile.
So the hunt is on. Have fun and can't wait to see all the pretties and hear why it is your favorite.
Happy treasure hunting.
hugs,Pea

One man's Junk is another man's treasure
Or woman's treasure. LOL
This is a HUGE piece that I got from a friend. I am using it in the studio and infact when I got this piece I didn't think it was going to fit. It has caused me to change my entire plan for the studio. I think I am liking this new plan even more then I had originally thought. Some color changes have taken place. Some style changes have taken place but all in all it if coming together.
Don't worry we will be doing the reveal sometime this year. LOL I just can't show it messy and now it is messy. I have been working on some things but have been gone a lot too.
DH has been sick and so back and forth with the doctors taking care of him. I do hope he gets better soon. Poor guy. Hopefully the new meds work otherwise it will be surgery.
Okay kids will have more to show soon. Just little peeks here and there.
I am wiped out so I think I will hit the hay.

I wish I had some Magic
Merlin~ SOLD~ I ~WISH~ I had those eyes!
I wish I had some magic. I need some for creating. I am so tired of late. Doing too much and some days too little. A little bit of funk I guess. We all get that way from time to time.
Tomorrow is my anniversary so there is a reason to celebrate!! 28 years. WOW that seems like forever. I think we shall keep it easy tomorrow. Simple dinner, maybe out and movies. Should be a warm day hopefully so that will be nice. Just being us, no kids and that will be a change. LOL
Just wanted to pop in and say hello! Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

~ NEW~ ArT
Hello Everyone,
I created something a little bit different this month for PFATT MARKET PLACE and could not wait to share it with you. I had so much fun playing. I haven't had this much fun in a very long time. Here is a little teaser of one of them for ya. I know I am bad, just can't help myself. LOL
I have a huge mess in the studio now but it is easy enough to clean up. I hope:/
I want to make one more before I go back to doll making. I still have a small order to complete as well.
I updated my ETSY SHOPPE as well this week. I have a few more goodies to add in the next couple of days. You can find the link on the right or click on the words ETSY shoppe on the first line of this paragraph.
I had a busy day. Finished up the deadline by the skin of my teeth. LOL then off to Mom's to help her. Poor thing threw her back out and well she just can't do much. I had to take down some really ugly curtain rods that are useless to her. That was a nightmare. Of course she was up on the stool too,(STUBBORN) trying and there went her back again. She stood there and cried being in so much pain. Of course I start crying too as there is nothing I can do. I can't stand to see her cry. It just kills me.
I am gonna go back on Friday to check in on her. I hope she will get it back into place. No Doctors will touch her back. She had polio and it blew several disks because of it. They said she would never walk again and she ran after that. She is strong minded. People ask me why I am so stubborn, I reply most days... "Have you met my Mother?" LOL
On that note I think I will hit the hay early. I am simply too tired.
Have a wonderful week.
Blessings to you and yours,Pea

Now I have heard of everything!
Well, friends what a week I have had. Where do I start? At the beginning I suppose.
Mom has been seeing a lot of doctors lately. She was very anemic and it seems actually had some blood loss. She ended up in the hospital. They gave her a transfusion and seems to be right as rain now. Although it has been a very long couple of weeks I am glad that it is over.
Want a giggle? While I was taking care of Mom she asked me to do her a favor. Get out her emergency curtains. I replied what? Emergency curtains? What the hank is emergency curtains? LOL
I found out that my Mother the planner for any event had among other things emergency curtains. Her answer was this." Well, you never know when you will have unexpected company from out of town, or move and you need curtains today. So these go in the top of the suitcase for just such emergencies." I laughed so hard I cried. I told her I was gonna blog this. She thinks that is funny. Now before you ask. NO, I am not the planner/organizer my mom is and I do not have emergency curtains.LOL If any of you do, you have to let me know.
The studio is still under fine tuning as I have been gone for nearly two weeks with mom. Now I have to get busy and create a few things. I hope to have the studio done next week. Right after I make this big mess. LOL Only time will tell.
I am not making plans anymore. It seems when I do a kink arises and plans are changed. I am just gonna go with the flow.
Have a wonderful week everyone.

HOW HAS ART SAVED YOU?
Now that is a good question. I recently visited a blog with a very interesting question. I always love a challenging question makes the rusty gears grind into working a little faster. LOL
Crescendo asks us how ART has saved us?
For me that is a many parts answer. I started creating at a very young age. My Mother got me hooked so that I would be busy when the weather was not so nice. I loved playing with all kinds of buttons, wood, fabrics, paper and threads. Ceramics and the list goes on.
As a teenager I loved home ec and made a shirt or two although still to this day hate making or mending clothing.
As a adult it saved me money from buying things that I knew I could create for less. LOL
But personally how did it save me? Well that is a whole new ball of wax. It saved me from insanity when my children were young. It helped remind me that I matter too. As Mother's we are often unselfish beings. We clean, cook and care for our families with such pride and dedication that we often are the forgotten ones. That isn't saying that being a wife/mother is a bad thing it is just that we seldom do things without someone elses needs or wants being first. Often times when we even treat ourselves to a simple coffee a cloud of guilt will consume us. Oh, I should have bought the kids a treat instead of me. Yes, this really has been my thoughts.
Creating is the one selfish thing I do. I do buy supplies for me, and I do create as much for the joy as the need. It makes me who I am. It keeps me centered in the big old world of loads of laundry, caring for a loving family and shuffling dollars to make cents. I don't ask the family if I can create, I simply tell them that I am going to. Then I do it. Art give me a identity beyond being just the kids Mom and Mr. Peabody's wife. It reminds me of who ME is...
Now tell me your story. I would love to know.
Have a wonderful day. I am off to finish painting the new studio. YEAH!

Unexpected Guest
Due to the fact that we live so far out in the boonies we don't get a lot of friends stopping by.
Yesterday I was taking out the trash and chatting with a friend on the phone when a guest showed up and it stopped me in my tracks.
I have lived here for 17 yrs and never knew there were frogs this BIG here. I have seen/heard the baby tree frogs. Have heard other noises that I thought were deer and hubby tells me it is the frogs.
Isn't he cute? He was as long and wide as a $5.00 bill. Yes, a 5.00 bill cause this boy isn't a happy meal. LOL
Back to painting the studio. I have primer on the wall so far. Pics soon I hope.
Have a wonderful week.

Tweedle Bee and Tweedle Bug
Hello Everyone,
I did manage to get some creating done this week. I am so happy and excited with this little set. I made them a bit different and I think they turned out so adorable.
They are so much sweeter in person.
They are listed on TDIPT and you can find them *HERE*
They can be purchased together or separately if you like.
I have been going all day. Today was the big day. We( the sweetest future DIL) and I moved all my stuff out of my studio. It is all over the house now. OMG I hope no one stops by. Hubby doesn't want me to move his stuff until tomorrow. I want to clear out that room. I have a lot of work a head of me. Clean carpets, prim and paint. Boy a boy what a job. But I can't wait until I have my new paint on the walls and it starts to feel like home.
maybe tomorrow you will get a before peek.
Until then have a wonderful weekend. I will be a busy girl;)

My first Mini book
Hello Everyone,
I have been playing in paper. I love playing in paper now and then. I got this book cut out as a freebie from a order some time back. As soon as I saw it I thought of my dearest friend. She is more like a sister then a friend. I had to make it for her.
The color choices are her favorites, colors of her furniture and decor.( although I love them too!) I took a few pics that I had of her, her family and had them printed in black and white.
I am not showing you all of the book pages as some of them are private moments and notes. Here are pics of most of the book though. You will miss the one paper flower, some of the pockets and tags but you will get the feel for the book from these pages I believe.
I love the fold of this envelope. I found it on utube and had fun playing with it. This is Kris being a goober.
My favorite page. A picture of her Mom( right) and her Auntie Joan. I adore these women and they make me feel like family. Hubby said the wings are upside down. I played with them and liked them like this. So blah to you hubbers:(
This is Kris and her four boys. What a funny bunch of guys they are.
Left this page open for her to add a pic of Eli her grandson. I didn't have one of him.
This is more room for pics to be added. I used Tim Holtz tickets for journaling as the pockets to add pics. The pic will make Kris laugh. You see when she was trying to move to Arizona she got stuck here because of this lovely snow( you see here) for 3 weeks. I had the best time with my closest friend for three whole weeks. She called it a vacation and I call it one of the best times of my life. God how I miss her.
I tried to make the book so that there wasn't a lot of decoration on it. Kris is a pretty classy, simple gal. She doesn't like the fluff, frilly, lace and flowery type stuff. Clean simple and antique-ish. So I tried to give that feel to the book. I hope I did achieve that.
So gals how did I do for my first book? PLEASE LET ME KNOW *TRACY?! Since you asked...
Well the dishes are calling and then I want to go create some more stuff. Sewing I think. Have a wonderful week.
Hugs,Pea
